In some ways the issue feels a bit rushed, but also has an extended epilogue resulting in inconsistent pacing. Still, Superboy-Prime is back in the DCU as a potential toy for writers to enjoy as a foil for several characters (perhaps Young Justice?) in the years to come. Read Full Review

While you can get some enjoyment out of some of the emotions of the characters and the action that's involved, this finale to Geoff Johns's story sadly comes off as a rushed issue that speeds to a conclusion and leaves you wanting more from this story by the end. The art was okay, but not a style that I love and ultimately I was just disappointed with this finale to this story and the penultimate issue to this series. Read Full Review

Shazam #14 marks the end of an ambitious storyline where Geoff Johns bit off a bit more than he could chew. Extending the metaphor, Johns did finally manage to swallow it down. But it proved not to be as satisfying a meal as readers wanted. But don't worry, Jeff Loveness is back next issue to provide us a the actual series finale as dessert. Read Full Review

A great story arc came to an end. The artwork was okay and the pacing was good to keep invested and also understand what's going on.

I don't know why Superboy Prime was in this at all. Otherwise, I guess this was a fine ending. I lost interest a while back and never really regained it. The next issue will probably be fun because Jeff Loveness is writing it, but then the volume will be over, and I certainly won't miss it or wish it had kept going.
