Red Hood: Outlaw #32

I am very happy, and I could not praise this issue any more (well I could, but we'd be here for a while). I loved all of it, I cannot wait for more. I've only read part one and I already have this massive, goofy grin on my face, just thinking about getting to read the next issue. This is some great stuff. The script takes all sorts of turns in these twenty two pages and it's awesome. I have no idea where we might be going next! The art is fantastic as well. Lastly, Stephen Segovia took over the penciling this issue. He got rid of Jason's buzz cut, or whatever Pete Woods had given him before " a smart move. Definitely not the looks of a "businessman." Jason also looks less bulky. We'll see if that remains the case if suits up as Red Hood under Segovia's watch. Read Full Review

A really great issue! I loved Segoiva did really great in the art, he captures Jason's ideal look. I feel like the past issues, even though the art was awesome, Jason looked NOTHING like himself, yes of course he got a buzz cut but his facial features were totally different. Color popped as well! This opens up potentially more drama with Batman which in the future I hope resolves, but for now it's really interesting to see. Read Full Review

Lobdell has some fun playing up the premise of Red Hood as a casino owner. It's easy to see how much trouble this is going to bring about. As is usual with Jason, this probably won't be a long term gig, but it'll be fun while it lasts. Read Full Review

Overall, I like where this arc is headed and with the cliffhanger of Penguin in Jasons own personal cell. I think there will be a great mix of tension and excitement as Jason turns the Penguins empire legitimate by destroying it. Read Full Review

Red Hood: Outlaw #32 feels like a fresh start for this series. It doesn't abandon what Lobdell has built these past few years; but, in leaving the distractions of the past few months behind, it allows the central drama"both in this run and in Jason Todd's character overall"to come back into the forefront. Segovia is an able partner, particularly with Lokus's quality color work, and this book once again feels like a bargain in quality when compared to other options on the rack. Read Full Review

Red Hood is moving on up in the world and heading back to Gotham City, which is pretty damn exciting, but even for this setup issue that lets you know all about it...... I feel like too much was left out to make it feel believable.  I love the art in this issue and I love the use of characters, I just hope that the story picks up from here on out because this setup feels like it could lead to something exciting. I believe its okay to take a break once in a while, and this issue could have been suchby being all about Jason. Other than a brief flashback scene which served no purpose to me, Red Hood was nowhere to be seen. I can appreciate the title is Red Hood, Outlaw, not Jason Todd, Outlaw, but for all the times we see him in mask and costume for the entire issue, I'm not opposed to not seeing him once in a while. Loved this issue. Red Hood has been the most consistently good book since Rebirth began and it continues to deliver. I loved Jason's interaction with Bruce. I can't wait to see how this storyline plays out.

While for first issue of this new story, really enjoying it! Love the new set up he has though I would love to know where this stands in the timeline with the Batman book. Issue would have done a tad bit better if they shorten or got rid of the flashback, thought it was a bit too much of unwanted information. Love the dialogue and the writing.

Maybe I’ve missed something here, but it seems like a big time jump from last issue to this. Seems quite unbelievable how fast& easy Red Hood took over Penguins empire. Especially because it’s told in just a few sentences. I also can’t see Bruce just accepting Red Hood being in Gotham again. As if Bruce couldn’t find a way to kick him out of Gotham again. Lobdell is a good writer. His Nightwing run is great& so is Red Hood, but this issue felt a little rushed like there’s missing one issue. Jason is also really getting on my nerves this issue, so I’m definitely rooting for Penguin here. On the other hand it would be nice, if he was portrayed as a villain again as he was Pre52. So let’s wait until next issue. Maybe more thing s get explained there. more

Meh. I find a lot of things in this issue really dumb. Batman would've done something to Red Hood. He wouldn't just go away after a threat. He has a history of locking people away himself. Ugh. I don't care about this.
