All in all this is one of the few Nightwing issue in recent times that really feels like Nightwing. This issue has a similar vibe compared to something like the Last Laugh tie in from the classic Dixon run, definitely worth a read. Read Full Review

Nightwing #71 is just OK. I have not been a super big fan of the “Ric” storyline in general but having the Joker in a book against any Bat person raises the stakes. The action is fast and furious here, but the storyline is simply just OK. I should use a different adjective, but I don't have one. I love Nightwing, so I would read 32 pages of him reading a phone book (that was how people found numbers before the internet kids). Read Full Review

Ric Grayson can't remember his past, and I'm starting to forget when I liked this book.  Dan Jurgens is in a stalling pattern as we head to the Joker War, and while that may end with every Nightwing fan's dream, it's been a two-year slog getting here.  The Joker's appearance didn't wow me, and nothing much happens in this issue until the cliffhanger.  I liked Ronan Cliquet's art, but can't find many reasons not to skip this issue. While the tie-in to the upcoming "Joker War" does bring some excitement it is not enough to overcome all the problems with the Ric Grayson Saga. Even when Dan Jurgens writes a solid Joker in Nightwing #71 all of the plot elements around Ric Grayson keep the story back. There is a chance that this "Joker War" tie-in turn out to be the strongest issues of the Ric Grayson Sage but Jurgens has a lot of work ahead of him to overcome all the problems with this story. Nightwing #71 does very little to justify Dick's continued inability to remember his true self. Joker's appearance does offer a slight burst of excitement, but quickly loses steam once his plan is revealed. Read Full Review

Are we just going to ignore how Ric just blinded poor Tusk? Must've had his memories changed to reflect the Titans TV show. Honestly, how much worse can the Joker make him?

Joker was fun but the rest amounted to absolutely nothing. The last issue of 'Ric' must be close now? I liked Cliquet's art more than I have in previous issues.

Yes, if there’s one thing we needed it was more of that train wreck “I don’t know who I am because my memories have been meddled with” plotline, thank you so much Nightwing.

This is literally the same story told in Nightwing #64-68, just a few months ago. DC is totally disrespecting the character on his 80th anniversary.
