You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff
Jul 28, 2023There are dark and sinister shadows around the entire issue. Its not very easy to bring authentic horror to the page in a way that sneaks in around the perceptions of a reader. Populating a world full of people having nightmares with dead people and the resurrected heroes of ages past is a very powerful step in the right direction. The reality being presented in the story feels like its own kind of nightmare. All of the heroes are gone, and all thats left is a few shadows of people who arent alive anymore. Read Full Review

Jul 25, 2023We dont know the characters nor do we really know the rules. And even after this event is over, what does it lead towards? What was its purpose? Where was the setup for the event? Readers, I want to like this event but it just seems out of place and without direction. After two issues of Knight Terrors and almost every single tie-in issue, Im still royally confused. I'm still mostly on board. I like the idea that Insomnia is outraged by the idea that super heroes get to die and come back to life all the time, whereas regular people just die. The Sandman flashback art style was fun, as well. I'm a tad confused on some plot points though, as I feel like the rules of the nightmare realm and Insomnia's powers haven't been explained very well. The subtext of this series has potential, but the plot itself-bad guy wants a thing so he can do a thing so good guys have to get the thing first-is pretty tired.

to be honest this issue felt flat. this event so far isnt as entertaining as Dark Crisis or Infinite Frontier. The art, story and pacing leave much to be desired.

The "Knight Terrors" main event issues grows up when Deadman tooks the lead (now with the fun company of prime Sandman), but still a little confuse with its plot developing.

Look, I really like Dodds and his entire look. Undead verion of him I am jiving with. However, there feels like such little movement in this story. 3 Issues in and we are still sort of in a talk and learn phase, not much fighting or moving stuff forward. Not much to say as not much happens. Nice art though.

KNIGHT TERRORS #2 is out which means we're finally back to the main event story two weeks after KNIGHT TERRORS #1 came out. I've been looking forward to getting back to this story as plot details have been few and far between in the tie-ins that have been released in-between these two issues. They've all left me anxious for a better understanding what's happening to cause all these heroes to fall asleep. We're now officially halfway through the event and I can't say that I'm any closer to feeling like I have a clue. But I'm trying not to let my frustrations with the larger event cloud my judgment of this issue, so let's dive in! I'm really enjoying Williamson's work with Deadman. He's given the character a quirky narration style that mix more
