The Aspiring Kryptonian - Tyrone Tony Reed Jr
Mar 25, 2026Justice League Unlimited #17 doesn’t just deal with the aftermath—it lives in it. It shifts from spectacle to consequence and forces both heroes and readers to sit with what victory actually means. Mark Waid and this creative team deliver a thoughtful, emotionally grounded chapter that proves something important: The battle may be over, but the real story is just beginning. Read Full Review

Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield
Mar 25, 2026It’s pretty cool to see Waid follow up on the story he built during his weekly Action Comics run a few years back, and the final page shows some big names who might be brought in – including some who might not be a good idea. This is a really promising plotline with a lot of potential so far. Read Full Review

KPB Comics - Phillip Creary
Mar 25, 2026Justice League Unlimited #17 is a massive pivot. I wasn’t sold on the idea of a “Villains in the Justice League” when I saw the early solicitations, but it makes sense in the context of a world post DC K.O. You can’t fight a war with one hand tied behind your back. It’s a desperate move, and that desperation makes for a great read. Just don’t expect Batman to start trusting Lex Luthor anytime soon.< Read Full Review

Mar 25, 2026In victory, the cost is even too grave to celebrate as the JLU faces a future uncertain. Waid maneuvers through the varying stages to construct a fragile solution to a much larger problem. Henry and Bonvillain construct multiple views at the desperate attempt to become a stronger team of heroes. Settle in for an intense ride into the future of DC’s greatest superhero squad. Comic Watch - Kevin Rossi
Mar 26, 2026While it moves quickly, Justice League Unlimited #17 succeeds as both a bookend to DC K.O. and its own massive previous arc, and a beginning. Readers shouldn’t expect things to settle down too much, because this feels like the start to something big. Read Full Review

The Comic Book Spot - Adam Koppel
Mar 25, 2026Justice League Unlimited #17 is a noble effort that inform readers while providing setup for the next story arc, but without a coherent character focus, it functions as little vignettes. The writing and art are above average but not quite the series' typical high-quality. The issue is still a good catch-up for readers interested in what DC has planned for Next Level. Read Full Review

AIPT - Piper Whitaker
Mar 25, 2026Justice League Unlimited #17 is neither stellar nor terrible. Waid and Henry clearly have fun with this installment but it raises the question of just how well a book designed to set up spinoffs can fare with long term quality. Hopefully this series can find the footing it has been looking for as this arc continues. Read Full Review
