There, he's suddenly whisked away to Krypton's final moments and meets his past-life predecessor, Catar-Ol. Hawkman tries to learn the final fate of the super-weapon, but the planet goes boom before Carter can get the goods. Looks like it might be time for Plan B...

But Why Tho? - William J. Jackson
Jan 16, 2019The eighth issue sets up the confrontation to come, and I await eagerly how this will affect the Earth and how Hawkman might defeat them. This is a character who tends to get a book and see it canceled down the road, so buy this book. It is a classic example of old school superhero comics that expertly advances a character to their next evolution, while not forgetting where it came from. Read Full Review

Jan 17, 2019This issue made me want to follow Hawkman on his journey, to see how he is going to defeat the threat of death and hopelessness in front of him and find that hope. I want to find out how he finds a way to soar. And I know he will. Because he is Hawkman. Read Full Review

Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield
Jan 16, 2019It's a story of a man's fight for redemption against an interdimensional backdrop, and it's easily the best story the character's had since the Johns run in the early 2000s. Read Full Review

Geeked Out Nation - Jideobi Odunze
Jan 16, 2019Hawkman #8 proves once again that there is nothing wrong with having a superhero book like Hawkman that is endearing. The destination is only as important as what you get out of the journey. This introduction to Catar-Ol of Krypton was as heartwarming as the reunion of Carter Hall and Ray Palmer. You think you have gotten the best out of the story one minute, and then you would be proven wrong with another excellent issue. Read Full Review

Jan 16, 2019Not much happens here. The recap annoyed me but Bryan Hitch's art just sends a jolt through my body. His pencils, along with inks by Andrew Currie and Andy Owens, coupled with Jeremiah Skipper's amazing colours, give us one of the best-looking books currently being published, hands down. Jan 16, 2019Another great issue! It's a slower paced issue than previous issues, but it explores an important element to the entire Deathbringers arc. It also connects Hawkman to Supermans past in a unique way that readers will enjoy. The last panel has me excited for the next few issues since it seems as if the Deathbringers arc may soon hit its climax. Overall, this title continues to be my favorite ongoing series out there… I like it so much, it almost makes me feel guilty since Hal Jordan is my favorite superhero Read Full Review

Jan 20, 2019If youve been reading this series so far, then this should be considered yet another issue of the same high quality as you've come to expect. The mystery deepens as everything looks hopeless, all while things look to get a lot worse. Basically, if youve been enjoying this classic heros return then theres absolutely no reason to stop reading now. Read Full Review

Jan 16, 2019Hawkman sadly continues to disappoint me as we pretty much have an issue about two guys talking about the destruction of Krypton, while leaving all of the cool details about this series as a mystery that we'll hopefully get later. I enjoyed the art in this issue, as I have the previous ones, but this snail paced story-telling is killing me. Read Full Review
