Hawkgirl #3 felt primarily like a guest shot issue where Batman is shoe-horned into the story. Even though Vulpecula seems like a very generic villain, I love the interactions between Hawkgirl and Galaxy, as well as the great fight scenes and action. There are some fun bits along the way that touches on how Kendra's forgotten or missed out on some of the right ways to be a superhero and that comes from interacting with the locals. The small sequence at the start when she deals with the Croc Bloc gang is light and fun and I appreciated the street-level element that we get. The stuff with Galaxy and Batman is fun and just acknowledging the Corgi delivers as it should. The book has all kinds of potential but it feels like it leans in an area that's just tiring and that the execution is keeping it from achieving what it needs to. Read Full Review

Hawkgirl #3 isn't very good, but it's slighty better than the first two issues. Still, Hawkgirl #3 poorly concocts an excuse to head to Gotham for an obligatory Batman cameo so the world's greatest detective can add context to Vulpecula's backstory. This wasn't my favorite issue of the series, but I still enjoy it a fair amount. I'm sure the decreased amount of focus on Galaxy will please some of the haters of this series. For me, this just didn't feel quite as focused as the first two issues were, although I thought Kendra's blow-up towards the end of the book was nicely done and it was my favorite part of this issue. I also think Axelrod writes Batman nicely. The art from Nahuelpan was really good, as per usual. I feel as though this was a minor bump in the road for a series I've enjoyed thus far, so hopefully things get back on track with Issue 4.

Way better than last issue, I actually felt like I was reading a Hawkgirl book! There’s way more superhero fights between multiple groups which were awesome to read. Kendra’s story is still a bit undercooked here and she’s inconsistent with her portrayal in the first issue. Everyone one who appeared was great, besides Galaxy.
