Mar 11, 2020Harley Quinn #71 is a wonderfully complex look at how Harley struggles to cope internally with her oftentimes emotionally shocking life, all packaged in within a wildly whimsical and chaotic story. This is classic Harley in the making! Read Full Review

Mar 04, 2020Sami Basri is the missing element that makes this issue great to read. The art is fantastic and the characters come to life on pages filled with detail and great action. A consistently great looking book. Read Full Review

Mar 04, 2020This issue is a little more over the top than Humphries' usual fare, but its best moments are when it slows down for a minute. The segments involving Harley and Booster, and Harley and Alicia's daughter, have some real emotional punch to them that fits this arc neatly in Harley's larger storyarc. Humphries is likely to leave her in a very different place. Read Full Review

Mar 04, 2020Harley Quinn #71 is a very good comic even for those not entirely privy to the character or the series. As a newcomer, I found Humphries' script incredibly tight and easy to follow along with. Sami Basri's art perfectly fits Harley's larger than life (and oftentimes self-aware) nature, but also does well to imbue her with a strong degree of agency. While the plot concerning a rigged wrestling match and faked suicide is nothing new, Humphries' character work with Harley and the supporting cast is strong enough to overlook the familiarity in the narrative. Mar 04, 2020I will be honest. I am just jumping on this train at issue 71, so I need to get my sea legs, but I feel like this book is in capable hands. I really do enjoy the way Humphries writes female characters and I think this shows some incredibly growth for the character, post Heroes in Crisis. I mean, she even teams up with Booster in this, so that says a lot. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff
Mar 04, 2020After the death of her mother, Harleys series hasnt had quite as much impact as it had before. Harleys restless and so is her comic book...not quite finding the footing it needs to really define itself. The loose talent in the pairing of Basri and Humphries is still there, but its not quite connecting-up the way it had at the end of last year. There are a few elements in play in this issue, which could lead to something better. Time will tell if Humphries and Basri are able to capitalize on it. Read Full Review
