Green Lanterns continues to be a joyous and exciting ride through the lives of Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz as Green Lanterns. This expansion on the cosmic lore of the Green Lantern Corps is interesting and very engaging. Humphries writes an amazing book. This issue wasn't as exciting as the past few issues, but I'm not mad about it. Great stories need to be set up and that is exactly what he's doing. I'm not a fan of the cover art because Cruz looks incredibly disproportionate, but the issue itself is very colorful and well drawn. Read Full Review

While the majority of this issue feels like a simple slug fest, I do have to say that I did appreciate the time that was taken to remind all of us who the original seven Lanterns are and where they come from since their origins have been spread out over a shit ton of issues now.  I also liked that we got to see that while these are Green Lantern rings these seven are wearing, they aren't like the ones we're used to and that they're pretty dangerous weapons to wield.  The art in this issue was great and I can't wait to finally get to our heroes taking on Volthoom. Despite my complaints, I still enjoyed the meeting of past and current Green Lanterns. Seeing new characters bear the Green Light is always exciting and with all of them being very different aliens (and one elemental) could and should provide unique character dynamics as this arc moves forward. Green Lanterns #28 started out strong, with the promise of exploring new characters and letting them flourish, but the plot beats weren't given much time to breathe and the conflicts felt rushed and their resolutions nonsensical. While ordinarily I love this series, I was disappointed in this issue. Hopefully it picks back up next month. Read Full Review

Awesome Green Lanterns world building by Humphries. Some hick ups in the story being forced or quickly moved to fit the plot but still intriguing, Art is hit or miss but good overall.

We finally get to see all seven of the original Green Lanterns together. After many issues of one to two pages of each original Green Lantern, their story comes together. I do have to say I was disappointed with the death of one of them, as I found that character intriguing and would have liked to see more stories with the character. Overall, this was a good story with very good artwork.
