Overall, this was a solid start to this new story that has a HUGE secret revealed at the end of the issue. We finally get to see Hal Jordan have some down time and a new terrorist threat rise in the area. Green Lantern #47 returns Hal Jordan to Coast City just in time as Sonar begins to try to make a name for himself and his native Modora. With Parallax looming on the horizon this issue serves as an enjoyable read which reunites Hal Jordan with his family while setting the book up for an eventful fiftieth issue. Cliffhangers don't get more surprising than the one we get in this issue. I'll just say that a character of huge importance when it comes to Green Lantern mythos shows up on the final page. Maybe that's why Tan was involved " they wanted him to draw the character in question. It should make for an excitingGreen Lantern#48. Read Full Review

I've actually enjoyed Green Lantern's return to more space-centric title, but Green Lantern #47 works in allowing Hal to reconnect with his family (and get a much needed makeover). Read Full Review

While there are some really strong things to see in this story, the majority of the issue just left me wanting more.  Strange dialog and getting Hal back to a more classic feel seems to be the name of the game here and it's kind of disappointing because of how much I was looking forward to Hal's space Renegade persona.  Great art throughout this book though, that only gets stronger as the story progresses.   Read Full Review

Outside of the Parallax revelation this issue was set up for something larger, but no real clue on what that is. The first half was more engaging than the second half of the issue, hopefully something interesting plays out. Read Full Review

Overall,Green Lantern #47misses a chance to create a solid character driven story of family, in favor of forcing drama and violence. What could have become a fun filler issue with interesting character moments quickly turns into a forgettable filler issue with little effect on the ongoing series. Read Full Review

Happy to see Hal's brother take on Hal's long hair, these two character have good chemistry. Good start to this arc, we'll see where it goes.
