Green Lantern #29

This is a much needed re-telling of Hals origin; I just wish I could somehow contribute. Anyways, Johns does an excellent job covering all the bases, including John Stewart, and adds a real emotional depth to Hals character. Hal is my all-time favorite fictional character, I share a great deal in common with Hal and I also wish I could have some of his character traits. Perhaps another time Id go into greater detail, but this issue does a fantastic job setting up the back-story to Hal and a little bit of John Stewart, as well as tying into Blackest Night. Green Lantern #29 was a necessary evil. Johns needed to give an origin issue to all the readers who hopped aboard this title during the Sinestro War. That way, the newer readers are properly prepared to enjoy the stories leading up to the Darkest Night event for next year. Read Full Review

Unless you have no idea who Hal Jordan is, you're wasting your money. Not even the art could save this, as it was far from Reis, or possibly the colourists, finest outing. Just hit up Wikipedia and you'll be fine. Read Full Review

Sharp, crisp, colorful art. The story itself is not too complicated and a life-saver for guys like me who aren’t familiar with Green Lantern. Loving it so far though
