Freedom Fighters #6 not only brings Overman into the fray proper, but it does so in a special way. Utilizing the origin sequence from All-Star Supermanand connecting it (finally) to The Multiversity: Mastermen #1, elicit particular responses from the reader that add to the effectiveness of the storytelling. While it would be easy to end there, not only is the art superb, but the issue provides a clear direction for the team, and opens a door for the further exploration of Overman's character. Hard to believe this book is already halfway through its run. I am certain that another six issues will not exhaust the potential this series has. So there will have to be another miniseries afterwards. Or an ongoing series. Or a movie. That would be good, too. Read Full Review

Another fantastic issue that plays around with the idea of the Nazi regime taking over America and only a few heroes standing in the way of the American spirit dying off completely. This issue introduces a Superman-type character that adds an entertaining new enemy to the fold. Read Full Review

Amazing art and story, where the action is complemented by an issue that not only pushes the Earth-X continuity forward, but ties into The Multiversity: Mastermen in a way that makes this a wonderful read, while also allowing more secrets to be revealed going forward.  This is definitely one of the best books on the market right now. There's a lot of exposition in this one, and a lot of action. What remains is not a lot of room for forward movement, but there are plenty of revelations about the nature of the world in which this story takes place that will leave fans wondering what's next. Read Full Review

And so another mediocre issue passes. The interchangeable superheroes have a fight. Ho-hum. The art looks really good, but the writing lacks depth, subtlety and characterisation. If this was a golden age comic then it would be understandable wartime propaganda, but it isn't. Six issues left to produce something worthwhile...

I still don’t feel like I know these characters beyond the pretty basic character trait of “hate Nazis,” and that makes for a disengaging read.

I need more than patriots fighting against the evil Nazi empire to be invested in this. Almost none of the characters we're supposed to care about stand out, making the end of this issue pretty unsatisfying.
