I've been a strong believer that a great story makes the reader truly think. If a story can drum up some solid water cooler talk, forum discussions, imaginative theories, speculative discussions, inquisitive responses, and unending questions then it deserves some outstanding praise. Flashpoint Beyond #5 does that and then some! Readers will leave with all of the above and excited for what's to come. Read Full Review

The writing team has created their own Secret Crisis that explains what happens in the Omniverse vs. Hypertime, making the Devine Continuum very interesting. I can't wait to discover more of it, but we still have the world of Flashpoint to survive through. Read Full Review

Flashpoint Beyond's final issue is going to have to tie up some significant loose ends. Given the creative team involved that's not necessarily a huge ask, but to firmly lock this in as one of 2022's strongest DC mini-series it's going to need a highly satisfactory final act. Read Full Review

Flashpoint Beyond has just one issue to go after this week's Flashpoint Beyond #5, and the penultimate issue may be the series' strongest. Read Full Review

Flashpoint Beyond #5 starkly spells out everything wrong with DC continuity and confirms why this title hasn't justified returning to the Flashpoint timeline. The big reveal surrounding who, why, and how is so shockingly dumb that it boggles the imagination. The art is great, but the story is repellent. Read Full Review

I had quite a bit of fun writing this review, but at the end of it I find myself feeling a little sad. I don't know why I thought this would end any other way hell, I began my issue #0 review with the proviso of why I felt this comic was creatively bankrupt. I suppose for a moment, I was hoping the story could perhaps escape the endless ouroboros of DC events, and do something that doesn't try to suck me back into the same old tired comic book tropes. But maybe I was wrong to expect that from Johns or indeed, from DC. Read Full Review
