The "Perfect Storm" arc continues in The Flash #41 with a strong spotlight for Wally West and the younger members of the Flash family, but is somewhat held back by the fact that Barry Allen continues to make terrible choices that put him and everyone around him in grave danger. Read Full Review

Overall, this was a solid issue, and Williamson has built his story up to this point nicely. Every arc he has been working on since he started The Flash, has seemingly been leading up to this one, and more than likely further into the Flash War. Its difficult seeing Barry Allen act so far out of character, but there is no doubt that its happening for a reason, and he is in good hands with Williamson moving forward. Read Full Review

It's another fun and entertaining issue of the epic "PERFECT STORM" story arc, and I'm really enjoying it so far. Although the character of Barry seemingly takes a step back or two, Wally West remains to be a character worthy of the Flash mantle. I love Barry Allen as the Flash and he's my favorite speedster, but is time to give the name back to Wally West? That's something I'm sure "Flash War" will address. Read Full Review

This series often tests whether it's possible to cram too many speedsters into one book. In this case, I can't help but feel that the notion of Barry having his speed stolen by Gorilla Grodd would carry more weight if he didn't have three different speedster partners ready and waiting to pick up the slack. This issues seemed more intent on retroactive explanations and setup than pushing the story forward and that's a shame.  I can't wait until the Flash War hits, but I also like Grodd who barely appears here.  The art was great, but as a single issue, this was disappointing. Read Full Review

The artwork by D'Anda and Guerrero seems oddly off, even ignoring D'Anda's obvious panel recycling. Read Full Review

In conclusion, the issue was really a mixed bag. The art by D'Anda is fantastic but feels dragged down by the writing and plot. There is also a lot less focus on the villain in this issue, which I think hurts the overall story. Read Full Review

I wish I could say I did not see the ending coming, but I did. With only speedsters being able to move throughout this new speed force storm the only logical choice was for Godspeed to enter into the story. Now I am OK with that but it did seem a bit predictable to me. We find out that Lord Grodd, which I love by the way, is probably controlling Meena mentally, and possibly the others. And I'm ok with that too since it will give Meena and out for being "bad". But what is going on with Barry? He's upset that his powers are gone. I get that. But he's coming off like a jerk. And appears to be so desperate to get his powers back that he needs to let out Godspeed for help. Basically releasing a killer instead of trusting the three spee dsters he has there. I'm just not digging Barry right now. Actually haven't liked the writing of "Barry" too much since he got the negative speed force. I don't think this comic is bad by end stretch. I love the story, the set up, the writing of mostly everything, especially the villains BUT I want happy go lucky optimistic Barry. Where is he? I also want Barry to be the egg head for a bit that runs the show from behind close doors and Red head Wally to be the actual flash for a bit in the comic and the league. Let's fix Barry and work on him while continuing a great Flash comic! I loved the art too! The art with Grodd in the beginning looked fantastic! at least godspeed will get his shot to be the hero this time instead of just being a generic villian who is faster than the flash , I have got feelings that the writer is gonna end him for something good

I hope you're right. We have enough speedster villains and J-dub has done enough with speedsters and villains since Rebirth. I'm curious to see if you're right and he gets the chance to be a hero. I'd read it!

This issue was good, but not great. There was a lot of standing around talking which reminds me of team flash on tv, which they do a lot. Barry seems to be a little schizophrenic to me. First he hands the "flash" reigns over to red head Wally (god I hate that there are two "Wallys"), now he says that the only way to beat Grodd is if HE is the Flash. Huh? What changed his mind? Why all of a sudden is he being a jerk to both Wallys? I am curious to see if Meena and Godspeed will leave the dark side!

Totally agree with the Barry assessment. Why was he ok an issue ago and now he's obsessed about being the one to stop Grodd. Great point! As for characters changing sides, I feel like Meena will. She helped Avery and Lil Wally and they feel connected to her. So she's got to change. But, the negative speed force at away at Barry. So shouldn't be doing the same to her? I thought she also had the postive speed force in her too. So, maybe she also needs to have it taken away.

Who better to do that than Godspeed, who is a pro with that! I think Godspeed SHOULD have the opportunity to be good and will come off that way at first but will continue to be bad
