Deathstroke Inc. #7 is a must-read prelude to DC's "Shadow War. Bursting at the seams with insane reveals and wonderful character exploration, this issue's success is due to Williamson's masterful handling of both Respawn and Deathstroke. The writer's choice to use the question, "Why are you really doing this? as a recurring theme is absolutely perfect. It provides the creator with an ideal opportunity to explore the title character further. Additionally, Segovia's artwork bolsters this issue with expressive facial expressions and homages to the character's previous run. Moreover, Hi-Fi's darker colors give the narrative a grim feeling, while his muted tones evoke the soft spot Slade has for his children. Read Full Review

While this issue is the last installment of Deathstroke Inc before Shadow War, it also basically serves as the next issue of Robin. Given that the books share a writer and several characters, it's not a surprise, but anyone who only reads this book won't particularly understand much of what's going on with the mystery character Respawn. Slade had mentioned seeing a dark vision of the future. I'm not sure if the villains from the closing pages of this chapter are the threat he saw, and only time will tell what will become of Deathstroke's fears. Read Full Review

Deathstroke Inc. #7 provides prologues and epilogues for various other series, all of which are now intersecting with Deathstroke Inc., but it barely addresses its own narrative or the significant status quo shift that occurred in recent issues. Read Full Review

Very strong issue, now I really care about Respawn. As always, love to see references and connections to previous stuff, be N52 Grant Wilson or Priest's Deathstroke run. This consistent sense of continuity is one of this series strongest aspects. A slow but good read.

Despite being an issue that's heavy on exposition for a character from another series, in a rushed set up to a crossover event, I think this has been one of the best issues of the series so far? This series still needs to justify why it exists and, while it seems like that's not going to happen, as long as we get breezy issues like this I won't have many issues with reading it.
