Deathstroke Inc. #11

I'm loving this detour for Deathstroke Inc so far. We've never been given a proper Year One backstory for Deathstroke amidst the many changes to his history, but thankfully Ed Brisson, Dexter Soy, Veronica Gandini and Steve Wands are here to take us on this fantastic journey. Im liking the direction of this Year One storyline and the cliffhanger ending plays into an idea DC has been pushing for years making for a pretty effective and entertaining issue. Read Full Review

This is very much a conspiracy theory with some great action mixed in, and a surprising guest star in the last act took me by surprise. But while the characterization is very solid, there isn't really too much that's new in this. Read Full Review

That an entire issue dedicated to a single mission performed so effectively ends with only the first notable obstacle being revealed makes it read as being scraped a bit thin, though. Here's hoping to see much more in the third chapter. Read Full Review

Year One continues, as we see Slade in one of his first contracts. We get more action with this one, more guns blazing and blood flowing through the pages.The comic still makes time for character development and interactions that still feel for the most part cohesive with what we already know about Deathstroke. And this is starting to remind me of Jason Aaron Punisher, which I'm a big fan so thats a plus. The highlight to me, once again, is the attention to detail when it comes to the character history. For instance, Deathstroke and Green Arrow used to have a big rivalry post Identity Crisis. So, Oliver showing up here feels appropriate and interesting. As a fan, I'm been dying to see the two fighting once again(last time we had Green Arr ow vs Deathstroke was back in 2016 if I'm not mistaken). Solid issue. Definitely looking forward to the next. more

This is a fun look at the character. He remains being a dick even when he's trying to be a loving Dad. The costume looks good and they make fun of the orange. And I love Green Arrow showing up at the end.
