When taking risks on books like this you need results when the future is not certain. Ethan and Damage could be heroes at this point, established in their own corner by now, but a few issues too many kept this book from grabbing eyes the way it could or should have. I doubt Damage will ever appear again in a major role besides maybe as background cannon fodder in a big event, but it's worth noting that he ends the sixteenth issue in exactly the same place he was in the first. He's still a loner, still mostly a blank slate, and Damage is still largely out of his control and serves as a "Dark side" to the meek civilian. Just bland and forgettable. Read Full Review

Overall, as a whole, the final issue of Damage was like most every other issue of Damage, where the problem is solved as soon as Damage is able to come too and save the day.  There's some small growth with Ethan here, but coming in literally the final issue of the series, we'll most likely never see it go beyond that.  In the words of the late great Dennis Green, Damage "is what we thought it was", a Hulk-like attempt at a book that just never expanded on that very basic concept.  Read Full Review

Damage is going to end up in the $1.00 rack with some other titles from years gone by. I really had hoped this would have worked out as a "HulK" or "Doomsday turned good" character for DC, but I'm glad he's sailing off into the sunset. I hope he finds an island with cheap drinks and an easy way to get into a witness protection program. He and We are better off with him gone! Read Full Review

Damage#16 is a suitable sendoff providing some character growth and an unknown future. Damage‘s pitch might have initially sounded like DC's Hulk, but over the course of sixteen issues, he evolved into something that could be unique in the DC universe. I actually didn't hate this. It was extremely simple, but I was so taken by the monster designs that I was imagining a Godzilla-esque comic in the DC Universe with these monsters... sometimes you have to make your own fun.

Jack Kirby designs yeah. I recognized Fin Fang Foom and the one that starts with a G. Congo Bill is an old DC character though.

I just find it annoying how hard Damage tried to be a Marvel book. From the concept and the covers, to the characters.

Damage dies as it lived. A Marvel ripoff that can't be properly paced. It's ridiculous. I'm glad it's done.

THE GOOD: -It's done. It's actually done! Oh my god! This is amazing! THE BAD: -This is just everything not to do in a series. I mean, I really don't feel like revisiting this travesty, so I'll leave it at that and keep my review from here on out very, very simple -Bad art. -Bad writing. -Bad story. -Bad characters. -Bad villain. -Bad dialogue. -Bad action scenes. -Bad ending. -Bad comic.
