Going into this issue relatively blind was certainly an eye-opener as I was able to enjoy the story on offer despite having a few issues with it. As a jumping-on point, it does everything right to hook a new reader, however, similarities in structure to past stories might make this appeal less to more experienced ones. This felt like a return of a very dear old friend. The sumptuous art and the inner monologue that told and made so many past and future threads. As a jumping on point it serves a purpose but as a return to the absolute best of what makes Selina tick then this ticks all my boxes for a cracking story..........JM

Finally, Tini Howard is through ruining this title. I like Thorunn's run on Red Sonja, so I was hoping this would be good. It has a decent start. The art is excellent, and the story shows promise, but I never quite feel like anyone writing Selina since Brubaker manages to do anything interesting for more than six months. So who knows where this might go? But Gronbekk showed promise with Jane Foster, so this could be worth the time.
