Another great issue and suddenly I get this new feeling I haven't had in a while with DC. What is it? Not exactly trust though I do trust this particular team to bring about a great story. Maybe a smidgeon of hope but this comic isn't going to change the entire comic industry nor was that ever promised in the first place. Ah! I know. It's relief. The realization that comics can be fun and well thought out and have characters with motivation and mystery and all the good things that make us want to dive into these crazy worlds in the first place. Interesting concept but I feel the execution is just very weak here. There is so much good character opportunities missed in just putting together a heist story for a group of the most skilled female combatants in the DC universe. Birds of Prey #3 is not a good Birds of Prey comic, however, it is a pretty good Harley Quinn comic. If you're here for Harley and how great she is then you will flip that score around, probably. If you're a fan of the Birds of Prey, this isn't it. Read Full Review

My favorite issue yet. Thompson and Romero are putting together a pretty fun and engaging story with this series so far. Surprisingly enough, some of this issue's strongest moments deal with Harley. I like how Thompson is building the relationship with her and Dinah and I'm looking forward to seeing how they develops. Plus, Romero does some really good stuff with his art. It's very unqiue and I think it fits well with the story. I'm definitely interested to see the team face Wonder Woman in the next issue and I hope the quality of this series continues to go up like it did here, for me.

The banter is fun and the artwork is dynamic, but the story itself is pretty haphazard. It' feels like many elements are rushed to get to a confrontation, and focues more on action, which ends up feeling empty, that plot or even characters. The confrontation with Diana, for example, feels like a set of random elements poorly stitched together, from the main characters poorly thought plan to distract her, to the fact the fight seems like a collection of "what-exactly-am-I-looking-at" panels (a page ends with her turned into butterflies? Maybe? And then she's immediately okay and on the Island? What's happening here?) In short, cool style, not much substance.

As I mentioned in my review of the debut issue, this series continues to have a Harley Quinn problem. She sucks up so much oxygen throughout every issue that it’s difficult to look past her constant presence and enjoy anything else about this book. Without Harley, this could be an habitual 10/10 series because everything else about it has been amazing — the side characters (including any Bird of Prey not named Harley Quinn), the writing, the art. But nothing else gets a chance to shine because every single conversation comes back to Harley. If she is the one to somehow defeat/reason with Wonder Woman to save the team, I may not be able to continue with this series.

Not sure what you guys are reading, because my rating is a whole lot lower than what I'm seeing from the rest of the reviews. The art and the coloring are horrible. Zealot makes a pact with the island where no one can be killed and she tries it out by stabbing Harley? What is even going on? Wonder Woman turns into butterflies and teleports to Paradise Island?
