Batman: Urban Legends #11

Well, Ace the Bat-Hound takes center stage as BATMAN: URBAN LEGEND #11 comes to a close in dynamic fashion. If you happen to be a dog lover whos also a comic book fan, this story is right up your alley. Russell gives a new (possibly never developed) backstory for Ace and divulges someone unique bonding between BATMAN and the Bat-Hound. Sure, BATMANS voice is a bit off. Batman: Urban Legends #11 continues to hit and miss with stories and art.  There is usually something to like, though, and I'm looking forward to continuing with the Batman / Zatanna story as well as the Eternity one.  The kicker is whether it's worth the hefty price of admission, and while that's totally a personal thing, this one didn't quite do it for me.   Read Full Review

Batman & Zatanna - 7.5/10, not the biggest fan of vita ayala but this was quite fun and touching Wight Witch - 9.5/10, don't know much about this character but this was an excellent starting point, im a sucker for the painted art too Eternity - 7/10, some sloppy dialogue but the premise intrigued me, again this provided a good starting point for a character im unfamiliar with Ace - 9.5/10, I LOVED this, i'd be happy for mark russell to write the main batman title or detective comics tbh

This is a solid set of stories. The Batanna story is nice and fun. The Wight Witch story is good, despite being drenched in all things Fear State. The Eternity story is probably the weakest one here. The writing and art isn't on the same level as the rest of these. But it wasn't bad, and hopefully it gets better from here. The Ace the Bat-Hound story is my favorite. That Bat-Dog part is so cute.

Really enjoyed the story and art of the Batman/Zatanna story thought the talk between Superman and Batman was very jarring and off character. The Wight Witch was readable but very cliché story trope for a character that doesn't feel warranted to have a past with Bruce. The last two were the standard throw away stories we seem to get in this book and won't be reading the rest of those.
