The Bat-Family reunion is enough to sell me on the story by itself, but the allusions to The Killing Joke and Return of the Joker clinches the deal. It looks like a we're in for one hell of a story. Read Full Review

I found this number of Batman Beyond spectacular, full of many flashbacks that seek in some way or another to tell us about what happened with the most important members of the Bat-Family during all these years, with this new Arc it seems that a new approach is given to Terry since it indirectly touches Terry's past and the events that led him to carry the bat's cowl as well as the introduction of relatively new characters such as The Signal and Damian Wayne into this futuristic world. Why is he here? What does he want? Why does he have to be wearing that shirt? You'll understand when you read the issue, and shout angry vowels at the air, as Jurgens leaves us hanging. Again. Read Full Review

The world of Batman Beyond is described as decades from now However, with the respectiveages of the more familiar characters (Bruce, Dick and Barbara), it doesnt seemso far in the future, despite advances in technology. Nevertheless, I enjoy theseries: familiar but fresh, while building on established Batman lore. Read Full Review

An action-packed issue with plenty of flashbacks to show how we got to where we are, with the return of characters new and old, and the appearance of an old, classic threat, this issue is the perfect jump-on point for new readers. Read Full Review

    Batman-News - Daniel Cheeseman

Batman Beyond #25 is more of a prelude than an opening chapter; I admire Jurgens' restraint in spending almost a whole issue getting his readers up to speed but delivering so much exposition in one issue means it eventually gets boring. The interludes that drive the story forward are promising though; if anyone can make this series shine again, it's the Joker. Read Full Review

    Weird Science - Eric Shea

Our "Final Joke" arc starts off a little boring as this over-sized issue takes a lot of its time catching people up to what's been going on in the world of Batman Beyond.  Yeah, it's a good jumping on point for new readers, but pretty pointless for anyone familiar with this series.  The art didn't grab me as much as I would have liked, but like most issues of Batman Beyond, the strength of this issue really comes from the cliffhanger. In the end, the issue was fine but its apparent retelling of an already established story makes me nervous for this arc. It is really going to depend on the creative teams ability to go in a different and fresh direction to this return of the Joker. Read Full Review
