Oct 13, 2020Sadly, it's time to say farewell to Batman and the Outsiders. Hopefully this won't be the last we see of the team. I look forward to seeing the team members wherever they might pop up in the DCU. Thanks to Bryan Hill, Dexter Soy, and the rest of the creative team for a stellar series. Read Full Review

The Batman Universe - D.M. Grant
Oct 14, 2020Hill ended this series with possibly the best issue of the run. The title overall could be repetitive and slow going, but his attention to character growth was never underappreciated from me. It was a great series that collected several characters of color together and put them in a spotlight that showed real consideration and care. It was never perfect, but it was always a series that I enjoyed having just as a fact of DC Comics' history. For that reason, Bryan Edward Hill has a lot to be proud of, even more so with this final story. Read Full Review

The Super Powered Fancast - Deron Generally
Oct 13, 2020There is a quiet serenity to the story and Marcio Takara's art perfectly matches that tone. There are some great close ups as the characters take the time to talk to each other, especially Shiva. Read Full Review

Oct 14, 2020This issue is really a series of vignettes more than anything, some more compelling than others. Read Full Review

Oct 13, 2020I honestly believe that this series has been grossly underrated and underappreciated. I wish all these heroes bright futures, and all the characters whose adventures we've followed the same. Yes, when I say heroes I mean Bryan Hill, Veronica Gandini, Clayton Cowles and Dexter Soy. Thanks for a great run, and one that I'm sure will be remembered fondly when the Outsiders inevitably return. Read Full Review

Comic Watch - Kevin Rossi
Oct 13, 2020Batman and the Outsiders #17 is a satisfying sendoff that doesnt feel like a setup of more to come. Despite this, it leaves plenty of opportunities for its characters to grow and move on beyond the Outsiders. This is bittersweet for Bruce Wayne, though maybe more bitter than sweet. Read Full Review

Oct 19, 2020This series also ends on a much quieter note than you might expect. There's practically no superhero action but it's still very engaging. The stakes are personal and honestly, they always have been. Read Full Review

ComicBook.com - Nicole Drum
Oct 14, 2020It's a slightly too-tidy wrap up, but it delivers on the characters in a thoughtful way that serves as a "what might have been" while also serving as an adequate goodbye. Read Full Review

Weird Science - Jim Werner
Oct 12, 2020Batman and the Outsiders #17 ends Bryan Hill's run, and while he stays true to his character moments that defined the series, they fall flat here. There were too many unanswered questions going into this issue, and unfortunatley, they remain so. I liked more than I didn't in this run, but this ended in a thud. Read Full Review

Batman-News - Joshua McDonald
Oct 21, 2020As much as it pains me to say this, Batman & the Outsiders #17 fails to live up to expectations, and comes short of giving this book the closure it deserves. You might be better off ending the run with the previous issue and calling it a day. Read Full Review
