Get out a few tissues for the tears you'll have to wipe away as they roll over your smile as we say good by to Batgirls. Batgirls #19 goes out with an inspiring and thoughtful message coupled with some great action, excellent art and beautiful colors. Perhaps, one day we'll meet again, this could be just the beginning. Ideally, a series thats been as good as Batgirls doesnt have to end. If it DOES have to end, though, it really SHOULD end with an issue like Batgirls #19. The final chapter in the series pays homage to the characters and their struggles while providing a satisfying conclusion to central conflicts and holding open the possibility of more at some point in the future. All things must end, and ‘Batgirls' goes out the way it always lived: wearing its proverbial heart on its sleeve at all times. A powerfully deep and emotional series that never skimped on the fun, wrapped up in a colorful stylized beautiful package month after month. There are so many great players here, like Alysia Yeoh and Grace O'Halloran, that I'm hoping find their way back to the comics soon. And most of all, I'm hoping these two continue getting the spotlight they deserve. Cass seems to be covered with Birds of Prey, thankfully, but I'll keep wanting a book continuing this dynamic. Conrad bring their 19 issue run on Batgirls to a close in their trademark melancholic but humorous style, highlighting the bond between the three Batgirls as well as their skills in saving others, both fighting and in how they connect to those around them. Batgirls #19 ends the arc, the creative team's tenure, and the title with a final confrontation to stop a mad sniper from terrorizing the city. The resolution is serviceable, the killer's mysterious identity was telegraphed early on (although, the identity has a twist), and the art is passable with terrible colors. Read Full Review

As the finale to Batgirls this issue does a good job wrapping up the final plot and referencing back to the beginning of the story, both in its characters and in how the Batgirls have developed over the course of the run. While the run has had its share of problems I am happy that the Batgirls got the chance to adventure together, and I hope that they get the chance again in the future. Read Full Review

this is honestly a review for the entire series, and while there are some moments that are super entertaining, there are other moments where the story dips down and gets boring. But this series ends on a satisfying note, and I would reccomend this to readers.

Batgirls was a series that had its ups and downs. I feel like there's a lot that could be said about this series' tone. It really wanted to feel fun, and fresh, and hip and that was fine until they tried to invoke more serious emotions, which ended up falling flat. I can't know the behind the scenes of this comic, or how it came to be, but I do think it falls victim to a rather sexist mandate of sorts that I feel DC often employs for their female-focused comics. There's almost an insistence that these comics have to be light reading; more focused on fun and simple storytelling versus complex characterizations and plot. This sort of editorial insistence was also why dreadful Batgirl runs of the past like the Burnside era happened. This comic isn't nearly as bad as that, but I feel like the struggle was constant here. more
