Supergirl Comic Box Commentary - Anj
Dec 03, 2021Regardless, this issue was a dizzying carnival ride of a brawl and was supremely entertaining. It also ramped up the threat level of this arc. You don't just kill Apollo and eliminate Enchantress this easily. Incredible. Can't wait for next issue. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - David Harth
Dec 01, 2021Action Comics #1037 lives up to its name. Johnson and company give readers an action-packed comic full of surprising moments. Its exciting and where its going to lead is anyones business. The backup is a great kick-off for a story. As usual, this book is killing it. Read Full Review

AIPT - David Brooke
Nov 30, 2021Once again, Action Comics #1037 lives up to its name with tons of action, sci-fi supervillains, and Superman intrigue. There are also political elements at work here, showing how this isn't a simple fistfight, but a war that spans planets. Add in a good start to a Martian Manhunter backup and you have an issue that'll keep you entertained and thirsty for more. Read Full Review

Nov 30, 2021The stakes have raised this issue with the battle between Superman and the Authority against Mongul and his Lieutenants, not to mention a fun backup featuring everybody's favorite Martian. The art is great throughout and I find myself excited to read the next issue...... and a little worried. This is what I totally needed though to get me back on the Action Comics trolley. The Comicbook Dispatch - StoryBabbler
Nov 30, 2021Action Comics #1037 delivers on giving readers the big fight between Superman and the new Mongul. The fight itself is well-paced with solid dialogue by Phillip Kennedy Johnson, while the art by Miguel Mendonca and colors by Adriano Lucas make this a fun and dynamic comic book. The biggest problem is the predictability of the fight and how it all ends. But now that the series is going full-throttle with the Warworld Saga, readers will be getting more from this new Mongul storyline. Read Full Review

Lyles Movie Files - Jeffrey Lyles
Nov 30, 2021This latest seeming death of Superman feels like such a depressing turn for a character who was enjoying a massive creative renaissance until Brian Micheal Bendis systemically tore down so much of what made the character great since Rebirth. Johnson and Mendonca can only do so much in following this editorial direction. Read Full Review

DC Comics News - Matthew Lloyd
Dec 02, 2021Action Comics #1037 is a mixed bag. The best parts don't get the focus, and the Martian Manhunter second feature has a clearer direction even if everything isn't obvious at the start. However, Miguel Mendonca and Adriana Melo combine for a strong artistic outing across both stories. Once again Julian Totino Tedesco provides an exceptional variant cover- what a story that would be! Perhaps, once we get past this second "death of Superman" Johnson can explore the interesting concepts he's introduced. Read Full Review
