NIGHT CLUB (VOL. 2) #2 turns the teenage relationship drama and the threat level up to eleven when Sam's heartbreak motivates him to make foolishly dangerous choices. Mark Millar absolutely nails the essence of teenagers dealing with the challenges of growing up (as vampires), and the art team's visual delivery for angst, drama, and supernatural elements is on point. Plot Sam rejects Rufus' offer and tries to talk to Amy about his feelings, but she doesn't share that love, she stresses that she's busy being a heroine and that she's free to decide who she has a relationship with, Danny gets even more upset with Sam. Sam hurt goes into the arms of Kendra, whom he doesn't love, but she flatters him excessively and asks for the secret of the powers, Sam agrees to turn her into a vampire. All of Sam's circle of friends were his bullies in the past, so they now feel humiliated and there is a deep resentment to him. In this issue, Sam talks to his grandfather, who advances a possible key event in the story, the destruction of a dam due to the collapse of sediment, pay attention to this narrative seed planted by Millar that will flourish in the right moment. Sam turns Kendra but doesn't get it, until he discovers that she turned the entire group into vampires, now the bullies are in power again and Sam is mortally attacked. This story tells how Sam's life becomes complicated and the vampire situation in the area worsens, his ego becomes an avalanche of mistakes, Sam is more alone than ever and in the sights of his bullies. Art It includes many textures that allow Ramirez to create a gloomy but very dynamic environment, in turn it includes many details and poses that contribute to giving it realism and current events. Another great issue. The art is great and the writing is fantastic. While the stupid mistakes that Sam makes are annoying, they're completely believable and not overdone. Millar does a great job of capturing hormone driven behavior, teen relationship drama, and how these might all mix with vampire powers. Loving it.
