Beyond The Panel - Jideobi Odunze

With the conclusion of Once & Future #6, we certainly got the full package on this adventure with Duncan, Gran, and Rose. This chapter was action-packed, it gave us a stoic hero, and it was heartwarming when it mattered most. It was awesome as a whole to get this visual of what a Duncan who finally accepts his role in the larger story looks like. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - David Harth

Once And Future #6 is a great comic. Gillen, Mora, and Bonvillain turn in an entertaining chapter and set things up for the future. Looking at this issue as the final issue of a miniseries is the wrong way to look at it. Instead, this feels like the last issue of a story arc. Gillen sets up things for the future expertly. This modern retelling of Arthurian myth has many more places to go, and this issue definitely works to keep readers along for the ride. Read Full Review

A fantastic end to this books first arc, the entire creative team is at its best in this issue, playing on the Arthurian legend, excellent character dynamics, and sheer Englishness that have driven this book from the start. Read Full Review

Big Comic Page - Craig Neilson-Adams

With a heady blend of snappy, unmistakably British banter and epic fantasy, Once & Future is a series I have no problem recommending. Managing to avoid either taking itself too seriously or devolving into parody, it lands right in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer sweet spot, and I absolutely cant wait to see where Gillen, More and Bonvillain take us in the upcoming second arc. Flickering Myth - Calum Petrie

Through the six issues of Once & Future, I have been extremely immersed in the lore of Arthurian Legend. A deeper delve into the dark and disturbing history of King Arthur and the legend that follows him and his knights is never a bad thing. The series has done an amazing job at visualising and adapting the story to fit a modern setting, while delivering an outstanding visual medium to display this story on. Once & Future has been fantastic and hopefully with the teaser delivered at the end of the issue, we shall get a continuation on this outstanding series. Read Full Review

    Razorfine - Alan Rapp

The story comes to a definite conclusion with Duncan returning the sword while also teasing what more might be in store of him by the return of a far from satiated questing beast and a glimpse at another famous figure from Arthurian legend. The issue would have provided a nice wrap-up to the story, but I'm happy we'll get to see more of Duncan (perhaps offering the opportunity for Rose to be a bit more involved?). Worth a look.
