Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers #6

This was one hell of an action-packed issue, and I loved it! No more 'lather, rinse, repeat' monsters from the TV show, where they grow and get cut down by the Megazord on repeat. Whilst the issue does expect a level of pre-existing knowledge about the Power Rangers, it's still relatively easy to read. At the core of the story, it's about working as a team and how to deal with stupidly tense situations when all seems lost. And in a comic full of crazy monsters, villains and robots – it's manages to maintain a surprising amount of character depth in places. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #6 was somewhat of a fast read just because of the fight between the Rangers and Black Dragon, but it was one heck of a confrontation for what position it has thrown the Rangers into by the end. Their backs are against the wall and hopefully we will see more of their resourcefulness that has made this comic adaptation more engaging. Read Full Review

While issue #6 is more action oriented than anything else, it does succeed in lending a sense of stakes to a property long devoid of them. In the Black Dragon, Kyle Higgins appears to have a worthy foil, one who knows how to attack both physically and emotionally. His first appearance is made all the imposing thanks to Hendry Presetya's kinetic art, the resulting chapter standing as a visual highlight for the series thus far. Read Full Review

This is a fantastic issue with a lot of memorable action in it. It also ends on a nail biting cliffhanger. Now if the writer can tone done the distrust amongst the team, then this series will be even better. Read Full Review

This is an okay issue that reminds us the Power Rangers can be taken just as seriously as any superhero. Aside from the great art however, nothing much happens and the backup doesn't help matters either. Read Full Review
