Faithless #2

This is an interesting book in so much as it seems to capture the ambiguity facing a number of people and their lifestyle choices. Throw in some magic and suddenly the book doesn't seem to have a moral compass. That said, to whose compass must a person chart their path? People are individual, with their own dreams, needs and desires, each as viable to themselves as the next person. Here, within the confines of a comic book, we get to see how one person comes to terms with the responsibility of trying to live her own life. Remember though, the Devil is always in the detail! Faithless is a seductive, adult comic with gorgeous art work. Anyone who reads this will fall in love with the central character and the journey she is on. A must read but definitely not safe for work. Read Full Review

Despite pushing the exclusivity and luxury of the fashion on display, every character appears to be dressed in the roughest of initial ideas. Most of the setting and individuals in them appear flat on the page, never providing much of an invitation for readers to be tempted either. Read Full Review

Overall, the fact that Faithless is only a six-issue series means that I will ride this story out, but I can't say that progression in the story executed with what it needed to in order to add weight to Faith's magical awakening, right after having her sexual awakening in the last issue. While Faith is interesting, Poppy's manic pixie dream girl is as frustrating as any character that fits that trope. With the high rating that I gave Faithless #1,this issue was a let-down. All the sudden your pulled down some closes/gaimen worm hole. I loved this issue. This artist is a new favorite of mine...this is a erotica comic for sure and a first for me and I got to say it nails it perfectly. Great read.

The characters still aren't doing much for me. And forcing people to rape each other isn't exactly endearing me. Poppy is just the generic pixie girl and... the other one is just the other one. There's not much, if any, story to speak of here. I don't know, I just don't find this to be particularly written well, instead relying on shock and sex and hoping that's enough.
