The Comic Book Spot - Jaymee Remolde
Jan 10, 2024The art and the story makes The Madness #6, as well as the entire series, a very important read. It may not be a feel good story and it does have a high body count but overall I did not find the art that graphic but it does shine the spotlight directly on the effects of this type of attack and maybe can be relevant in superhero stories in general. Jan 11, 2024THE MADNESS #6 ends the mini-series as strongly as it started, with strong emotional beats, big bangs, and a fitting conclusion. Straczynskis tale of a superpowered thief on a revenge quest is a treat from start to finish, and ACOs art packs a punch. If it isnt already, this series should be on your Best of 2023 list. I liked a lot about this issue while other parts confused me. I liked the beginning with her releasing the Djinn dragon, but then there was the conversation with her alter ego. It was strange that in the last issue, J. Michael decided to change the story. She's no longer an element of her peronsality, she was actually an entity. I thought this muddied the waters. Then she comes back at the end and somehow saves her, but I don't understand how. In the final splashpage she looks like she channels the entity again. So, it just feels like it's all over the place. Kinda let down with the later issues and the ending in all. Glad I gave it a chance, but was disappointed with the story.
