Bad Dream: A Dreamer Story is a beautiful book to read both in art and story. It makes me want to do a deep dive into this character of Dreamer who has a connection with the Legion of Superheroes. She has been called an ancestor to Dream Girl, a member of the Legion.

For a setup issue, Birds of Prey #1 is kind of weak both in writing and art, but one hopes it'll pick up with the impending invasion of Themyscira.

This story answers some questions but it appears that some important sequences were left on the cutting room floor. For this reason the story jumps around and it looks like whole scenes are missing almost like missing an episode of an episodic TV series.

The art is still a little different than I would expect but the colors are more dynamic and that makes this enjoyable form a visual perspective. Story wise this story gains dimension and a more solid emotional element.

This issue is an uptick in this series. We are getting better development of the individual members of the team, and the stakes are also getting higher. Instead of just a rescue mission, this story has the capability of becoming a time-adventure with the theme of death and revenge at the forefront.

This is a fun story to read, especially when one can put aside decades of continuity. I believe this story accomplishes what the creators wanted to accomplish.

As an outsider reading this story it feels very meh to me. The fight was enjoyable to watch but it was very busy and fast at the same time. The ending feels rushed and more care is taken about Thessa introducing Cora to her stepdad, a vampire, than the fight itself.

Catwoman #57 has a beautiful, dark, and stormy art that matches the tone so well. Surprisingly, it's an issue centered around Batman, and there is also another wrench in the form of a villain reveal to contend with.

This story is a confusing romp that has not decided if it is a personal revenge story or just an elaborate heist. If it is a heist, it failed, if it a revenge story, it may have failed again. The art was fantastic though.

Catwoman #61 just appears to be a chance for the artist to draw mutated characters, offering no real reason for Catwoman to steal the item she's after beyond it just being pretty. Catwoman is a better character than this.

This is an improvement from the last issue, which I think was just there to draw radiation poisoning. This issue advances the narrative a little, but it involves the Suicide Squad, leading to a fun, team-based adventure!

Beautiful issue with fantastic character designs but unfortunately a pointless story. I would like to see what this new villainous alliance will bring to the book though.

Catwoman #64 finds Selina in an out of this world adventure that again leads to her death. This is getting old fast, but again the art is fantastic.

The cat god says that Selina squandered her lives in the beginning. I feel that the premise has been squandered in this story, and now we are going in a different direction. This is getting worse and worse.

When will this story ever end? I am ready to move on please.

An interesting story. Bringing the Transformers, machine life into a civilization that is afraid of machinery, a combination that can only lead to trouble. We now have Duke on the G.I. Joe side hunting down the Transformers, most notably Starscream, Cobra Commander who is fully aware of their existence and Optimus Prime using Megatron's arm.

Dark Ride #10 continues to be creepy from a mysterious thrilling way to a visceral stomach churning way with its graphic deaths and dismemberment. All in the day for a horror themed thrill park.

A very mysterious continuation to the story opened on Free Comic Book Day. The reader's interest is captured by the frivolity of the beginning but soon the tone gets dark and ominous as the reader now finds themselves in a horror situation. This change of tone is not jarring and it creates a feeling of suspense, what is going to happen next?

This story explores the power of fear. It considers it one of the most powerful emotions. So powerful it must be bottled up.

A story shrouded in secrecy and betrayal from all sides with beautiful artwork to boot.

The Doctor Who:: The Fifteenth Doctor FCBD Special is a great opening issue. The story is fun and the art is engaging.

This issue is not a disappointment. It continues the unique story telling of showing until it is necessary to use words. The family dynamic of the main characters continued to be explored pointedly as well as honesty. There is jealousy, passion, and understanding throughout this story. The issue ends as the others do with a great tag to demand the reader to continue this story. Sometimes it is a cliffhanger and sometimes it is a reveal. This issue is the reveal of Ma's power.

An action packed entrance of the G.I. Joe story into Skybound comics. I was able to follow the action without having to read the IDW run. However, I did grow up with the original Marvel Comics run of G.I. Joe.

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #303 is a marked improvement to the last issue. It has action, beautiful art and a massive cliff hanger to lead into next month's issue. Serpentor appears to be a worthy adversary for the G.I. Joe team.

The art and colors are fantastic and fits in with the story. Trini Howard is becoming one of my more favorite contemporary writers. Her range is notable when comparing her work on Catwoman and Harley Quinn. Two very distinctive types of stories with two very distinct artists.

Good art and a bad story do not make a good combination for me. I like fun, but this is just silliness on top of silliness. As a palate-cleanser, silliness is welcomed and required, but I like some sanity in my silliness. This story just does not have it for me.

This issue has upped the negativity. It has gone from being pointless to outright cruel. It highlights the idiocy of the police department even to the point of the ultimate corruption of using violence to further this one detective's aims.

Despite the art choices being a little off putting in character design, I still appreciated it along with this fun and wacky story.

This issue sets up the final battle to be seen in the last issue very well. This issue did not feel overly rushed or packed for the second to last issue. Instead it gives a good synopsis of the life of Kendra Saunders and her steps in becoming Hawkgirl even including a nod to her death in Blackest Night.

This is a fitting closing to both the story and the tortured existence of Kendra Saunders, a character I hope to see more of in the future.

This is a great read, even for those not immersed in the Dark Crisis saga that I am definitely not following at the moment. It ties the story to the event for those that are invested, but in addition, it is a great character piece that shows character development in the titular character and shows his ability to own up to the fact that he can be wrong.

This is the opening issue of the new arc that appears to dive feet-first into the Fox family themselves. Jace may not reveal to the entire family that he is Batman, but that does not mean there will be changes in the status quo. The first change is that Jace is not the son of Tanya Fox. This issue is essential reading for fans of the Fox family. Lucius is more than the technical genius behind Bruce Wayne. He is a man with secrets, lies, and faults.

This is an interesting concept, but I believe that there is a lot of wasted potential. It is possible that some of these plot points can be picked up in the future, based on the final panels in this two-parter.

A very good jumping on point for readers who do not know Lady Mechanika. As one of those readers, I am looking forward to following this story and I have even picked up the earlier volumes to satiate my steampunk cravings.

Beautifully illustrated but the story falls completely flat. This epic just fizzled out in the middle and never recovered for the bombastic ending that was expected. This could be the reason why this issue came out exactly one week after the last. A largely forgettable story and a lackluster ending does not lead to a good comic.

For anyone just picking up Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #116, I recommend at least reading the preceding issues of this arc, issues 112 through 115. This is a dynamic story along the same lines of Shattered Grid.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #117 is wrapping up the overall story arc, but it is becoming to look like a parallel version of Shattered Grid, just with a different villain and a different set of saviors. I am getting tired of this story and I look forward to it wrapping up. It is good in execution but it is not original over all.

This issue appears to be a turning point in this story. The Rangers are getting their footing and allies are gradually appearing. This is a good story and definitely is more grown up with the casualties that are mounting but alliances are being formed and possibly this arc is finally winding down. It is getting a little old at this point.

Finally there is a movement in the action. The art is also effective in showing the different multiversal versions of the characters as well. Now the battle will move to the Void for a showdown for the Zeo Crystals.

My heart has been broken many times by this arch. I want to see the finality, I want to see how this is fixed, but when will we see the payoff? When will we see the story progression? My hope is that this will read better in a trade collection. I just wish Boom just released this in a trade.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #122 is definitely an improvement both is the great art and fby finally moving this story forward to the next concluding issue.

A story that has a lot of questions: Where is Jason? Who is the fourth person accessing the Grid? Who is the villain of this story? Will Kimberly come to terms with her past as a Ranger? I am looking forward to the answers.

This may be considered one of my favorite Power Ranger comic stories I have read to date and I look forward to the continuation of this story. The story is mature and is not afraid of showing the consequences of this type of battle. The art is absolutely gorgeous and the colors are terrific.

I like the concept and idea of this story. I just do not feel like the writing is doing this story justice. The art can only do so much but there are definitely holes in the script that should be filled up and maybe if this story was longer it could have been.

Questions still loom about this plot but the fight sequences were entertaining and yes we finally got them.

This issue is not as attention-grabbing as the last issue. At the same time, it still tries to tell a different type of story in the DC Universe, and for that reason alone, I think this issue and series should be given a chance. I would prefer that the writers not try to make this series a cameo series where we see forgotten and underutilized characters, that is a disservice to the characters of Batwoman and Batwing, two decidedly outsider members of the Bat-family.

Outsiders #3 is an interesting excursion into the multiverse and possibly a foreshadow of a possible threat to the multiverse is coming. Drummer appears to be the one gathering allies, but is her motive helpful or harmful?

A different type of story than usual Power Ranger stories. There are nods to past teams but a lot of mystery and secrecy and it appears that Tula could be revealed to be a villain in a future issue. Time will tell.

This story even though it has elements of the Power Rangers does not really feel like a Power Ranger story. That may not be a bad thing, It may be good that this franchise can expand on itself and tell different types of stories.

The art in Red Before Black #1 creates the feeling of a crime noir and the story appears to either have a psychic or supernatural aspect to it. I am excited for either possibility. This is a terrific introduction to these characters, telling us a little about them without divulging too much while creating anticipation for what will come next.

Jason gets his own book. I just do not like the new villain created for it. Hopefully this character will be a one-and-done and better villains will be developed in future issues. Hopefully Red Hood may reveal his identity to Dana as well.

The story is good, but the art just does not fit this tone. The characters, including Jason Todd, look off design and frankly just does not fit.

This story is hard to follow, and the ultimate point or plot is really hard to pin down. My best guess is that Dana is a character that Jason can see himself as, and as a result, he wants to save her from becoming just like him. Interesting thought as Jason has fought to not become Batman.

This is the best cliffhanger yet. The heroes are facing off against impossible odds and now have a boost with the appearance of Batman.

This issue continues to be beautiful and stylized. With Batman brought into the mix, it is almost like Red Hood is not good enough, we need a real detective. Not a welcome addition.

Hey DC, Batman does not have to take over every story in Gotham. Give his allies and family members some credit. I understand why Batwoman keeps leaving Gotham. Gotham is a dictatorship run by the Batman.

A really pointless story and a pointless conclusion. Not a great showing of Red Hood. There is no change from the beginning except for alliances are different and some people are dead.

I do not know where this story is going exactly. It is possible that Darren could die and Jerry will take his place and possibly become a better self-help guru than Darren but only time will tell.

This story is becoming a morality play. Self Help #2 is a dark tale showing the consequences of schemes and crimes. Definitely a mysterious look into the underworld without glorifying this life. Not a fun story to tell but possibly a very necessary one to tell.

One more issue to wrap up this simple yet complicated story of lies and death, all for the sake of money.

I will not give this issue high story scores because even though I appreciate the attempt I do not like the execution.

Not a lot of real action in Star Trek: Picard's Academy #3. However, it is very thought-provoking. The art is definitely interesting to look at and I enjoy the differences in the character despite that they are all wearing the same uniform. I like the detail of the art in this issue. Picard is shown wearing a bandaid on his face after his fight with Resh. A condition that one of the professors notices in the end, a good detail giving this story a distinctive realism.

Not much to move the plot forward. This is the big test day and it is already a problem. I will say that the hologram Romulans appear to be solid enough though.

Star Trek: Picard's Academy #5 continues this story but this time we might actually see actual growth in Jean Luc Picard. He is becoming more and more the captain.

Star Trek: Picard's Academy #6 is an okay issue with a disappointing ending. The art maintained its level with the addition of different characters, mainly K and Nir. Just another story that could have been told better and maybe could have had deeper ramifications to the Star Trek universe but instead is a lackluster prequel story.

The art and the story makes The Madness #6, as well as the entire series, a very important read. It may not be a feel good story and it does have a high body count but overall I did not find the art that graphic but it does shine the spotlight directly on the effects of this type of attack and maybe can be relevant in superhero stories in general.

ThunderCats #6 is a satisfying look into the thoughts and motivations of General Panthro and a worthy debut of the next airborne threat to the ThunderCats. It looks like this general needs to create an air force.

I am interested in what happens, but the art style makes it increasingly difficult to care. I am not getting used to the art, and it is starting to get on my nerves as I continue to read this story.

Again I find the action rushed and there are some jumps in the logical progression of the story. The art is not great but the conclusion is what I want to see; two people in love. This is an improvement from the last issue.

A great jumping on point for new readers. Do not let the confusing narrative turn you away, this is the art of Vampirella comics, a piece that is more art than real narrative but a joy in both visual and cognitive reading.

Witchblade #1 is a great jumping on point for anyone who is interested in the story of the Witchblade. I am really hoping that this is the start of a very exciting and thought provoking run of an ancient artifact that has the power to bless the chosen woman with terrific and terrifying powers.

Not much forward momentum in the overall plot. It is important however to establish the power and effects of the Witchblade. In the last issue it only appeared to have a hypnotic effect on the host until it found Sara. Now it is a weapon of immense and brutal power.

Is the Marvel Cinematic Universe forcing the Marvel comics universe to be a popularity contest? With talk of the X-Men entering the shared movie universe is Marvel hyping this by flooding the market with mutant books.

All of the stories in this compilation are fantastic. It treats queerness as an everyday part of life and for this I give it high marks.
