The artist, Thomas Pitilli, has opted for a messier (albeit calculated) approach to linework – something we haven't seen much of in Archie Comics. It suits the storyline well as relationships are scrappy and a bit shaky at the moment, so everything's a bit out of place in the world of Riverdale. Waid continues to write with all the insight and tenderness of an awkward teenager proving there's virtually nothing he can't write. 'Archie' is a great comic with classic beloved characters and a modern twist. Archie #12 is a good read and despite not being very humorous, it gives us good character development. The classic Archie comic is about Moose and doesn't connect to the main story at all, though it's insanely funny and really helps clean the palate after the somber ending of the main story. The series is still great as always, but I can't help but feel like they could find a better artist. Pitilli's art isn't bad, but it always looks like a rough sketch. The jokes were funny still, but some characters are a little too dramatic. Sayid was kind of a jerk in this issue.
