Hardcore #2 commits to the action aspect of its narrative, at the expense of everything else.

The book's execution of an interesting concept and approach to complex topics proves to be in poor taste. DC's newest event is off to a rocky start.

Tom King has written a number of great comics but this isn't one of them.

Heroes in Crisis offers little in the way of meaningful content.

Heroes in Crisis #5 makes some small gains but actively undermines its chances of improving in any real way.

A complete departure from previous issues but one entirely for the better. Unfortunately, it can't escape the mistakes previously made by this event.

The series veers wildly between getting better and getting worse but at least it's almost over.

The art of Heroes in Crisis #8 is superb. The same can't be said for anything else about it.

As with most controversial events, people kept saying that readers should wait for the story to reach completion to pass judgment. But as in most cases, this ending didn't actually make a difference.

The book has a good story with some truly outstanding art. Killer Groove is off to a great start.

Killer Groove's mesmerizing Los Angeles narrative is by far one of the best comics to come out this year.

Killer Groove #4 takes a trip down memory lane as it starts to reach the end of its story.

Even the best books need to come to an end and Killer Groove stays true to itself all the way through.

Marvel Action: Spider-Man #1 has its refreshing moments but could offer the reader a little more.

Murder Falcon Issue #1 has some thrilling moments but fails to present its more human side.

Murder Falcon #2 is an improvement over the first issue but it could still use a little more substance.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 #1 fails to capture the magic of the show, as it falls between the cracks of two different mediums.

Remnant covers some interesting ground but offers a vapid take on the issues it presents. The ending is both bleak and hopeful but the story as a whole lacks the depth to make it memorable much less haunting. I appreciate short-form storytelling but this book does not make a good case for it. At the same time, I don't think a longer page count would have helped a book where there's just not much of a story to tell.

A reprint of a never finished comic originally published nearly two decades ago. The years have not been kind to it.

Section Zero #2 sets up a time travel plotline but the series still feels like it's a product of days past. And not in a good way.

Section Zero certainly isn't getting worse but it's still not showing any major signs of improvement.

It's not quite where I want it to be but this new issue is a huge improvement over the rest of the series. Bringing Section Zero into the 21st century went better than I thought it would.

Section Zero starts to move towards an ending, even though it still has plenty left in the tank.

It's quick-paced but Section Zero found its way in the end. While maybe not the best book of 2019 or 2000, it was a unique series with a lot of heart to it.

A visually arresting trip through the future of loss prevention.

Things are looking up for Shoplifters Will Be Liquidated, as Nussbaum descends further.

While the book could use a bit more focus, Shoplifters Will Be Liquidated is otherwise right where it needs to be.

It's getting a little complicated but the book is still enjoyable.

Star Wars Adventures #13 offers a simple but authentic experience for the average fan.

Grand Moff Tarkin would fit right in with the Dark Horse era of Star Wars. And I can't think of a better place for a Star Wars comic to be.

Stronghold #1 is a great start to a promising series.

Stronghold #2 improves upon the first issue and bodes well for the rest of the series.

Stronghold #3 moves fast, and not always in the right direction but the series continues to deliver.

The book still has its rough patches but it has already seen considerable improvement over the course of four issues.

Stronghold ended one issue earlier than it should have but otherwise it's a satisfying conclusion.

Freeze #1 has a strong premise that it fails to follow up on.

The Whispering Dark is largely forgettable and fails to establish a compelling premise.

It's not up to the standards of IDW's previous Transformers books but it was unrealistic to expect that. However, it does show the potential to reach those heights.

Transformers isn't a high octane story but there are some promising developments this issue.

Transformers #3 isn't in a rush to get anywhere, in terms of both story and art.

While it's a step up for this series, I'm starting to lose faith in this reboot.

Transformers #5 is finally picking up, both in terms of art and story.

Like the previous issue, Transformers #6 is a departure from the rest of the series. Hopefully it stays where it is right now.

Transformers #7 quickly wastes the goodwill it built up over the last two issues.

Despite some promising developments, it's more of the same for Cybertron and its inhabitants.

Transformers continually fails to capitalize on the hidden depths of the franchise.

Everything changes but not in a meaningful way.

The art finally gets better- at least when Anna Malkova's drawing the book. Unfortunately, nothing else has improved.

The book consistently squanders its potential both as an entry into the Transformers mythos and a standalone narrative.

Transformers #13 sees a huge jump in quality but bringing the best Transformers artist on board will do that.

Transformers #14 doesn't quite right the sinking ship but it's a start.

Things get better, things get worse, the usual for this Transformers' run.

Galaxies starts to pick up the pieces the main Transformers book left behind but you have to wonder if this series is up for the task.

It's high times for the Constructicons but a low point for the Transformers reboot as its one saving grace smoulders.

Some parts get better, some parts get worse but as a whole, Transformers Galaxies isn't nearly as promising as it first looked.

After a long, long wait, I'm reminded why I bother with Transformers comics with a delightful, meaningful story.

United States vs. Murder #1 provides an enticing, if lopsided introduction for the new series.

Outside of a few missteps, United States Vs. Murder Inc. is definitely one of the stronger books to come out of Bendis' modern body of work.

United States vs. Murder Inc. #3 goes a bit off the rails but it hasn't stopped looking great.
