While striving to do our best, sometimes what we do isnt very nice. In Spider-Man & Wolverine #1, Logans past reminds us of the difficulties in keeping a group of like-minded people together, whether it's an organization like SHIELD, a team like the Avengers, or a relationship between two loving people. Overall, Spider-Man & Wolverine #1 is an excellent debut that is both spy thriller and a comedy of errors. The story by Guggenheim is fun playing into what makes these types of stories entertaining. The art by the creative team is gorgeous. Altogether, it's a story fans of both characters will absolutely enjoy. Read Full Review
Spider-Man & Wolverine #1 is a visually dynamic and narratively compelling start to a team-up series that feels both nostalgic and fresh. With expressive art, witty dialogue, and intriguing connective tissue between the characters' pasts, it lays strong groundworkeven if a few story elements need further clarification in future issues. The revelations that hit the page at the end of the issue feel a bit forced, but its kind of a fun journey to the last page anyway. What feels like it could have been a perfectly satisfying one-shot extends itself into something more as the the mini-series begins to ramp-up. Its a fun opening to a potentially promising new story. That being said...there are A LOT of opportunities for the series to go off th rails in a thoroughly unsatisfying way. There are a lot of ways that a team-up like this could be cool, but Guggenheim and company have more chances to mess this up beyond the first issue. Read Full Review
Spider-Man & Wolverine #1is a visually bold yet viscerally familiar adventure that plays nice with the history that inspired it. Guggenheim's writing of the title characters, and Andrew's truly unique visuals, elevate what would otherwise be the start to a seemingly standard Marvel team up title. Read Full Review
may be the best spider-man themed issue in freaking years
Plot
Wolverine is contacted by Bill Branscome, a mercenary who explains the existence of the "JANUS DIRECTORY," the legendary list of undercover spies from around the world. S.H.I.E.L.D. has it, but since the organization was dismantled, it could fall into the wrong hands.
Wolverine recruits Peter Parker, who was about to start his date with Shay, but will have to leave mid-date (like all his dates).
Spider-Man and Wolverine arrive at a Helicarrier where this list is stored. Wolverine wants Peter to decrypt it.
Waiting on the Helicarrier are Kraven and Omega Red, who receive help from Mysterio. There's a nightmare sequence where Peter and Logan share their past tragedies, spectacular.

The art here is a lot better than Spider-Man Reign 2
