All in all, Daredevil/Punisher: The Devil's Trigger achieves everything it sets out to accomplish. It improves on a classic story, which elevated Frank Castle at Matt Murdock's expense. However, it also offers an accessible twist on the same story, which is sure to appeal to both comic readers and casual readers who don't know the history. Read Full Review

The latest match-up between two of Marvel's most iconic vigilantes doesn't miss the mark. Palmiotti turns up the tension with the writing. All in all, I like what this issue says about the characters, as well as how it sets things up, and gives me a different view on my favorite Daredevil fight (the character is too OP in my opinion, so I love seeing him get trounced in a fight). Read Full Review
Daredevil/Punisher: The Devil's Trigger #1 revisits a key era in the titular duo's history, setting the stage for a story that attempts to recapture the energy of the original Marvel Knights imprint. Read Full Review
Daredevil / Punisher: The Devil's Trigger #1may not be spectacular, but it is a well-rounded return to the classic dilemma of morality that has defined the relationship between these two Marvel Knights for years now. Read Full Review
Daredevil/Punisher: The Devil's Trigger #1 is a solid albeit flawed buy if you care more about Daredevil wrestling with broken institutions than about actually spending time in Punisher's head, because the book commits to Matt's crisis and delivers a full narrative loop in one chapter. If you are hoping for a balanced co-lead drama or a truly surprising ethical puzzle, the one-sided execution, underdeveloped Punisher, and the strange "no one sees the guy hanging from the ceiling moment drag down the return on your time and money. As this is the first issue for this miniseries, there's of course time for this story to come around. But Daredevil and The Punisher: Devil's Trigger #1 doesn't stand up on its own and only manages to be a watered-down retelling of a story that was better done elsewhere. Read Full Review
This is purely a setup issue, and the Punisher only appears in one scene, but I like this setup. The storyline is the traditional mobsters taking over each other's territories, but the fact that Frank leaves Matt tied up to hear their plans is cool. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Hmm! It's not bad, but I'm not going to get too "wow! This is what I need", since Marvel isn't one to give you crumbs, but a complete, well-done meal. We have a plot entirely focused on Daredevil (nah, I never liked the character, because I was fascinated by Castle killing thugs Garth Ennis-style and causing a stir among the more sensitive), with Punisher as a supporting character. We have something that at least brings SOME hope of seeing a well-written police thriller from Palmiotti (who must have smoked a lot of crap to write that Marvel Knights atrocity related to World To Come). Yes, I loved seeing Castle aiming for the head of a scoundrel (which unfortunately happens today with people like Charlie Kirk), but he schemed everything, and more
