I see what ur saying, but if check recent years, Woke creators have changed stabilised characters such as iron man, with gender and race swapped characters (riri), not to tell a story with a different take but to introduce forced diversity, that's why mont of those story have less story, if not none, and more political views of the creators. That's why gotham by gaslight was good while riri was not, just look at the sale.

Captain marvel had 8 relaunches over 14 years with shitty sales, but they keep promoting her, making stronger and stronger, she killed Tony, with what consensus? Every superhero still has no issue with her, or her judgement. Why cuz, women strong, women always right. It doesn't matter how her comic sales are, marvel will keep promoting her for WOKE points, they don't care about customers anymore, they got disney money to survive, we don't matter.

I would also like to point out that, she-hulk make over is another example, there is an issue where she explains, when she was sexy, villains would try to feel a cup when fighting her, REALLY, these woke creators keep projecting their personality and political view on characters. I don't recognise many characters now, their actions, opinions are completely against what was their stabilised personality throughout the decades.

The Graphic Novel industry had a 30% growth last year, 80% of which is accredited to manga, its not that there is less demand of comics, vustomers just found a better and cheaper alternative cuz they wanted entertainment and good stories, instead they got lectures and virtue signslling.

First, semantics: Just because something is "forced diversity," it's still a new take. Second, the series with the new characters have just as much story as the old ones. Maybe your problem is with modern comics writing for trades.

Third, the argument that sales is an arbiter of quality is a bad one. Not just in comics, but in any form of media. For instance, look at a comic like Watchmen. When it was originally released in the 80s, it wasn't a best seller. It sold a very middling amount of copies. But I guess it was all the politics shoved in there by woke Anarchist Alan Moore. Politics have always been in comics, and not usually in the form of good old boy establishment conservatism.

Fourth, Marvel has always tried pushing characters, regardless of their popularity. Captain Marvel is just the latest one. And by the way, she had a whole series where she dealt with the guilt of killing Tony Stark. It's not something that has been forgotten and forgiven by every superhero either. You comicsgate types have a real fear of women, it seems like.

Fifth, status quo changes are temporary, and I think there was a place in She-Hulk's character to do a story about how strong women are often sexualized, and the examples She-Hulk brings up in the issue have actually happened to her. You not recognizing characters must be hyperbole, or maybe you just didn't know them to begin with.

Sixth, companies aren't ran on woke points. Capitalism wouldn't be so bad if they were. The reason Marvel pushes certain characters (and it didn't start or end with Captain Marvel), is synergy. Whether it was a toyline (Secret Wars (1984)), or a TV show (there are too many examples), or a movie (Spider-Man: Back in Black). At the end of the day, Marvel has no agenda beyond making money, and they do with or without your support.

Seventh and lastly, Manga has plenty of woke ideas in it and "virtue signaling." I think what you think of as good storytelling is having basic archetypes spoon-fed to you with pretty pictures. To be fair, there's a lot of comics like that too, but luckily reign of the 90s ended.

Look, in avenges 41, by jason aron, Night hawk and black panter, infiused by phonix force get ready to have an epic throw down by talking politic. I dont know how that makes the story any better, in a tournament arc, characters are having budget meetings. Look, if u enjoy this, more power to you, I didint ask for other people to not read these comics, I just stated my opinion, not everyone has to agree with it, and it's fine, I'm glad others enjoy it.

I haven't read Avengers 41 yet, but I've heard that the way Jason Aaron writes Black Panther is the best part of that issue. I just really think the idea that politics in comics is a new phenomenon or that the politics being presented are a departure from the general comics consensus of the past is a bit ridiculous. Comics have always had politics and they've almost always leaned left. In the 30s, it meant punching Hitler before America was involved in WW2.

Now it means creating comics that satirize or indict the Trump administration. Or more broadly, opening up to new diverse systems of thought that weren't given a spotlight outside of Academia until recently.

It's okay to like comics where people hit each other hard, while also enjoying comics that explore deeper meanings. You can like both. I do like both, as long as they're well written. A good example of a series that does both is Immortal Hulk. It lives up to its name as a Hulk title in terms of action (and horror) while also exploring the character's DID, and politics come up as well. But it works, because it's written very well.
