I can only hope so. It was my favorite Justice League story ever and I don't love anything more than Justice League. It was a controversial series but it seems as many loved it as hated it. As for me, it's the one comic book I give to my non-comic reading friends to explain why I love comic books and so far it's been effective with everyone I've given it to. That's not to say it's great; that's just to say it's beloved by many too; it's not universally loathed.

I hate Identity Crisis.

I realize that. That's why you gave it a 6. I was just commenting to say that being like Identity Crisis was not universally considered a bad thing. In fact the response was much more like 50/50 amazing/horrible.

This is less tawdry than Identity Crisis, it doesn't have the cheap pathos of pregnant lady murder. At least the dead were superheroes.

I may not be as much of a Tom King apologist as you but I got to give it up for the art in this issue. It's 10/10 good. The only thing that throws me is the many character deaths. Given I'll have to see how the series plays out to see if those matter or not.

ActionCity Yes! The art is gorgeous!!!! And the character deaths are the main reason people are shiting on this book. So i dont think thats fair. Tom King promised a series that would touch the PTSD issue and, in HiC #1, Tom delivers a genius base so he can develop the story. And this is a comic book. They will come back. Dont know if that was just a dream, or a simulation, other dimension, or whatever. They will come back.

What was genius about it?

Samuel, this is true... I have to remember this is comic books and with the flash war just happening and rebirth bringing Wally back I'm sure not all is as it seems with this story so far. I will be back for issue 2! Are you reading mister miricle?
