This new volume by Dan Watters is a great introduction to the new status quo in Blüdhaven. The gangs have lost their bosses, the police force has been reinforced with military technology, and a mysterious figure in the shadows is taking the necessary steps to make Blüdhaven burn.
The new villain is interesting, especially with the circus-cult theme, and I really enjoyed Dexter Soy's artwork, particularly during the horror and suspense moments. Exploring the different gangs helps bring Blüdhaven to life and highlights how the people in this city perceive Nightwing.
I am not entirely convinced by Barbara's characterization, though. I understand that there has been a significant difference between Oracle and the post-New 52 B more+ Like • Comment -

This run has been sleepy. It's not worth buying the monthly series, it's too expensive for the low quality of the story, and even the TPB is getting expensive.
The way DC is going, with eyes only on Absolute, I really think this run might cancel Nightwing if it doesn't change completely.
It feels like a filler comic, there's no interest from the writer in telling an interesting story or trying to make the characters interesting.
Who cares about Zanni? Who cares about Olivia?
I didn't want to say this.............but I'm starting to miss Tom Taylor.
