Dec 26, 2020The kids continue to show their selflessness and willingness to sacrifice for the good of their family. It is often heartbreaking, but in this volume, we have some sacrifices that don't end up coming to fruition. The kids work together extremely well, especially since Ray and Mister have just started helping the Goldy Pond kids that Emma has been with for several days. There are also some really beautiful illustrations spanning one or two full pages that show the dichotomy of a frightening thing like Leuvis in a cheerful looking place like Goldy Pond.
