As much as I hate to say it, if it doesn't sell, stop selling it. Most of the Sandman Universe material have been fantastic, Hellblazer included. But if Gaiman its not going to sell..This is just a thing in the comic book industry. If nobody really is reading it, does ti really matter if its good? Especially with all the layoffs at DC, its something that just has to happen. Its sucks, but cancelling it is what DC needs to do if it wants to keep going. It will come back, I'm sure of it.

Aug 26, 2020It goes without saying this is fantastic. This week we saw even Neil Gaiman himself retweet the #SaveHellblazer petition going around online. Its hard not to feel for the creators when they make something so universally praised and still see it end. This is a phenomenal issue, highly worth reading. Read Full Review

Aug 27, 2020Sadly, thanks to certain dark powers at AT&T, John Constantine: Hellblazer is on the chopping block despite having barely started. Thankfully, a resistance effort of sorts is underway. So please, for the sake of artful comics that speak truth to power, buy this book. Sign the petition endorsed by no less a personage than Neil Gaiman. Keep buying this book and let DC Comics know that we want this book to stay around a long while. Or to get a new Constantine monthly series with the same creative spirit, since apparently this one is ending with Issue #12 and being given a chance to bring its larger story arc to a close. Just give us more Constantine, please! Read Full Review

Sep 01, 2020OverallSimon Spurrier comes up with a neat story, which plays on many of the conspiracy theories to do with the British Monarchy and takes advantage of some very recent scandals. Namely the whole deal with Prince Andrew and his associations with Weinstein. Lucky not a single Pizza join was soiled with Royalty in the making of the book. The set up of the Royal Family's fondness of Horse Racing and Horse breeding was brilliantly utilized to give us a Unicorn story, but with a Constantine twist. Read Full Review

Aug 25, 2020Matias Bergara delivers some beautiful, gritty art in this issue. I loved the first person perspective of the bar scenes and how the art takes on classic film noir elements in its storytelling. This is a great looking issue that really sells the mood and tone of the story. Read Full Review

Comics: The Gathering - Nick Devonald
Aug 25, 2020Hellblazer is THE BEST ongoing series out there, not renewing it after issue 12 is a travesty. Pick this comic up now, it’ll stand the test of time and will be remembered as one of, if not THE, best runs on Hellblazer. Tell your friends to buy a copy, buy an extra copy for them. Will it be enough to convince DC to carry this series on? Who knows, but a series which is consistently number one on comic book round up deserves an opportunity to prove itself. A different tone than previous issues, its still everything which is excellent about Hellblazer. Read Full Review

Aug 25, 2020'The Favourite' doesn't pull any punches. It's unsettling and nihilistic, yet strangely funny at times. It's also easily one of the best issues of the series so far. Read Full Review

Aug 25, 2020DC has also done a great job with the mix of artists on this run. Matias Bergara's work flows great with the tone of the story and Jordie Bellaire's colors " who's also been an outstanding constant throughout the John Constantine: Hellblazer run. Bellaire's work is crucial when it comes to setting the tone for each issue. Read Full Review

Aug 26, 2020The ultimate events that transpire are absolutely worth seeing, but the most enjoyable thing about this is watching John work and talk his way out of any situation. I get a similar feeling watching John at work as I did with David Tennant's Doctor. Everything about his personality makes you think he has the situation under control, even when he doesn't. And it still always works out somehow. Read Full Review
