This remains a horror story that is easy for the audience to get into, understand, and enjoy. This book is one of the best examples on how to do horror comics right. This particular issue is a vehicle for more subtle and lurking horror that creates an eerie environment bursting at the seams with potential. I'm definitely glad to get back into The Plot as it offers up the right kind of horror I'm looking for with solid pacing, some expanded foundation work that we get a lot of here, and just the general creepy tone. Hixson really delivers when it comes to the visuals, whether it's the creature or just making this village in Maine come to life, while Daniel and Moreci put in a lot of really good things with the characters here so that we get a good feel for what they're going through. This may be a kind of awkward jumping on point for some people but I think, with an open mind, it works well to entice you into its world and to grab the previous issues if it piques any interest at all because they're very much worth it. Vault Comics has a tendency to aim for that spot just before horror, that follows some pretty dark deeds. Sure there are tropes in play, but it is clearly not just horror for scares sake. But in all honesty, this book is driven by the notion of the past being the past, but to speak of it gives it control. The Plot returns with a powerhouse of a comic. It pulls back to give us some perspective as to how deep this goes, while tying it back to the present with Chase's current discovery. The terror is reaching a new generation and by the looks of things, we're just getting started. It's issues like this that make me wish this book runs forever. Read Full Review
