This is a spectacular issue of X-O Manowar. Between Venditti's strong scripts, Gill's stunning art, and Arreola's splendid colors, I cannot wait until issue #45.This is the kind of collaboration that elevates the medium. Moreover, this issue, and it's creative team, is a great example of the quality that continues to flow from Valiant. X-O Manowar #44 is a fun ride that manages to challenge its readers with socio-political themes. Moreover, the creative has put into motion plans that will seemingly lead to an explosive and gripping final act. And if nothing else, the teamwork between Aric and Ninjak as they take out VPLAoperatives is alone worth the cover price. This is one flagship title that worthy of the mantle. Read Full Review

As I mentioned, Venditti has been expertly trying every issue into every previous issue in this series, but he's impressively kept every arc open and totally accessible to new readers who might be picking the title up for the first time. The Kill List part 2 continues to give us a thrilling and meaningful storyline that questions religion, politics, war and racism. Gill and Arreola are a solid team with their art. The pacing is off, but not too bad. The issue is still very strong with Venditti's multi-layered writing, making it an excellent issue. Overall, this was a strong issue. Read Full Review

It's an okay issue. It's not great. It's not a great follow up to the previous arc, but if you're reading and liking X-O, then it's worth keeping with it. Like I said, it's a transition arc and so once we're out of fog we'll have a showdown and major consequences for the X-O side of the Valiant Universe. Until then, I'll keep reading and enjoying Ninjak. Read Full Review

I think super-friends Aric and Ninjak need their own theme song now! Murdering alien sleeper agents one by one together is the best way to form a brotherly bond. Though I think what I like best about this issue are the interactions between the human and Vine children and the disapproval of the bigoted parents.
