Solomon Kane: The Serpent Ring #1

Since brevity is the soul of wit, I shall be brief. This first issue of Solomon Kane: The Serpent Ring is one of the best comics I have ever seen and an early candidate for this year's Eisner Awards. The story is gripping, the art complex, and everything an action adventure comic should be. This is another triumphant adaptation of the heroes of Robert E. The artwork is great and the characterization of Kane is pretty spot on. I'm not sure about taking the story to Italy as I never saw Kane as a world traveler. I like that he accidentally kills a passenger and gets roped into going on a quest he doesn't feel like doing. The action is good and I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.
