Mar 15, 2012WOW! What an incredible ending to what has to be one of the most violent, no holds barred, no moral code respected comic series of all time. I loved it. While this issue wasn't as gross and offensive as some of the earlier issues, it was still filled with plenty of blood, gore and violence. Read Full Review

Mar 27, 2012This was a pretty good ending to this miniseries. I like these characters and I enjoy the story. Plus, it's nice to see someone who is such a veteran of the industry pointing out how foolish superheroes really are while also telling a "never give up" story. Read Full Review

Mar 21, 2012Where this finale disappoints is in documenting the fallout of the big battle. Millar cuts out of the story far too soon. Considering the losses Kick-Ass suffered over the course of the story, some glimpse of what direction his life takes next would have been appreciated. And knowing now that the Hit-Girl spinoff takes place prior to Kick-Ass 2, there's no telling when or if Millar will pick up Dave Lizewski's story again. Dave deserved better than that. Mar 16, 2012I had hoped that the promise of a giant showdown between the armies of Kick-Ass and Red Mist would be a sort of street-level Apocalypse that would put a capper on the series, but (as with most comic-book Apocalypses) it's just a setup for the next chapter. Which, I have to admit, I will probably check into, at least at first. But I'll completely understand anyone else who can't be bothered. Read Full Review

Mar 26, 2012The problem, really, is that "Kick Ass 2" lacks any specific arc or direction. If we were to boil this series down to its core idea, it's not so much "more is better" as "more is more". When "Kick Ass 3" does come out, we can only hope it presents some new ideas because if "Kick Ass 2" did fall short of expectations, that was the reason. Read Full Review

Mar 23, 2012I loved the first Kick-Ass series. It was magic. This series was too long and ended with a very unsatisfactory finish. You have a character whispering up five stories while a riot is going on and someone on the roof is supposed to hear him? That's odd. I wish I could recommend the book for the violence, but I simply can't. This was a big disappointment. Read Full Review

Mar 26, 2012While Kick-Ass had a tongue-in-cheek charm to it, Kick-Ass 2 reads like nothing more than half-baked storyboards for the next film, filled with "cool visuals" and "edgy material" but little in the way of substance. Read Full Review
