Mar 18, 2026The XoA head into the Savage Land with more questions than answers in this latest salvo. Loeb throws new looks at the classic lore with the writing. Di Meo’s art absolutely perfect for this series. This story is a must have for the X-Men fans of any era. Read Full Review

Mar 18, 2026Loeb delivers a technically proficient script that takes the story in a direction that I don’t really believe works for this book. Its use of Savage Land Rogue feels a little exploitative, as well. There’s a chance that the book will stick the landing, but right now, this issue just doesn’t sit right as a story. The art is easily the best part of the whole thing. It’s honestly a little too good for this book. This isn’t a bad comic, but it’s going to be the kind of thing that doesn’t really appeal to everyone. Read Full Review

AIPT - David Brooke
Mar 18, 2026X-Men of Apocalypse #3 struggles to find its footing, caught between big ideas and over-execution. Loeb delivers a premise packed with emotional and nostalgic potential, especially with Gambit, Rogue, and Magneto crossing paths, but the heavy use of captions slows everything down. Simone Di Meo’s art brings energy and style to every page, yet the fights feel oddly restrained and lack the punch of the previous issue. By the end, the story undercuts its own stakes, leaving readers questioning whether any of it truly matters. There are glimmers of intrigue, especially around Gambit, but they are not enough to overcome an issue that feels both over-explained and underwhelming. Read Full Review

This issue had quite a few confusing moments, but overall, it’s well written, excellently drawn and 100% non-woke. X-Men of Apocalypse is the only current x-title I can wholeheartedly recommend. Ironically, it’s not even about the „real“ X-Men, plus, it’s ending already next month.
