X-Men: Blue #28

A strong ending to an arc that started out shaky, with some incredibly strong character moments and some juicy seeds dropped,this is a book that is clearly continuing to improve.It will be interesting to see where Bunn takes these characters to next on their journey. X-MEN BLUE #28 may be rushed in places, but that doesn't detract from the classic cast of characters and the fantastic art. Bunn has struggled to create a successful arc in "Cry Havok" -- what with the poor beginning issues. However, I definitely think that, with this latest issue, his goal has finally been achieved. I really enjoyed reading it. But I find it quite too quick. It let some unattended question (Like where did Magneto was going, or Why Emma betray her team in that moment). Cover - Not related but good. 1/2 Writing - I find that disappointing in a way. 2/3 Arts - Love it. 3/3 Feeling - So Alex is himself once more. 2/2

The Mothervine conspiracy collapses thanks to a well-timed heel-face turn on Emma Frost's part. Magneto whips out a few healer mutants to erase most of the negative fallout with suspicious ease, but very bad blood remains between those two. Some high-quality art and a nicely-timed plot are big positives here; on the other side of the scale are shallow characterization and a powerful feeling of inconsequentiality.
