X-Men: Blue #22 isn't an especially bad issue. It still has its problems, but they're far less pronounced. The resulting book can get a little boring, but there is some fun to be had sprinkled throughout. This isn't a must-buy comic by any metric, but it is tenatively recommendable if you're a dedicated follower of the X-Men or Venom. Read Full Review

Well it's hard to read it without the annual. I was a little lost in there. And I didn't like it much. Cover - Ok but not really related, venom is a ally. 1/2 Writing - Didn't give me the need to see more of this part (Even if I want to understand what happen to the original X-men). 1/3 Arts - The arts is good. I was back in the 90's with the Symbiot team ... Did you remember them too ^^ 2/3 Feeling - Disappointed.

The Poison trap is sprung, inevitably redefining this story again. This issue's script gives Jean the POV for reasons that get obvious by the end; it's contrived but executed satisfyingly. The art comes up a notch or two, making an interesting background effort to show how Venomization has warped the X-Men's powers. In itself it's a satisfying read, but the overall story remains uninspiring. It's especially galling to see Teen Jean fall prey to Serious Difficulties in this "meh" crossover just after she successfully weathered her older self's resurrection.

I think this arc is just the result of a team discussing what they think would be cool to do with a X-Men and Symbiotes and putting it down on paper with very little thought behind it. Sometimes it works with some interesting ideas and other times it feels like fan fiction created by an amateur. It makes for a story for me does not work. Which is sad because it has some potential. One thing that I could get into was the art. I do think the Poisons could seem more menacing and less like a Power Ranger mixed with Venom, but the details in the alien worlds/ships along with the look of the X-Men and Venom are satisfying. The action works well and is easy to read. If you are a big fan of Venom you will probably get a kick out of this fun story. If not you might feel less enthused about what is provided. more
