With 4 years of storylines coalescing, this should have been explosive. Instead, we get what amounts to a little electrical fire. Read Full Review

X-Force #46 gets us closer to a major story arc finish line but does so with nonsensical action. There are good bits and bobs in between, but for such a long-running story it feels like a rushed chapter, to say the least. Read Full Review

X-Force may become one of the definitive legacies of the Krakoa era, but reading it in a collected format as opposed to serialization will improve the series a great deal. Read Full Review

After a strong buildup to this final issue, there was a concern that Percy wouldn't stick the landing. But I was hooked from page one, as Colossus battled his brother and the various members of X-Force reconnected. My only real complaint is that the issue wasn't long enough. The Chronicler was used heavily to explain how things resolved, but it would have worked a bit better for me if they had given the moments described on his written pages some room to breathe. The fight between Colossus and Mikhail was structured well and ended it a way that was satisfying, yet bittersweet as you can see the impact of what Colossus was forced to do weighing heavily on him. The art displayed the emotions of what each character was going through well, f more

Damn, the ending to the fight between Colossus and Mikhail was crazy. It really reminded me of the early days of this series in a good way. Everything else was good here as well, though I think a little more focus on Colossus and Mikhail would have been nice. Either way, good stuff. I'm intrigued to see what ends up happening to Colossus now that he's free of Mikhail's control.

It was a satisfying end to the arc, albeit not a particularly surprising one. The art was terrific, and the prose was decent. Orchis agent Jun turned out to be a red herring/loose end, though. In retrospect, devoting so much of #45 of her seems to have been a mistake. I'm happy Chronicler was sent to comics Limbo. Though his powers were interesting, they also tempted the author toward self-indulgent meta-fictional nonsense. I think he should stay in Limbo, too; he'd present the same temptation to other authors.

I didn't think I'd feel so robbed of a climax about the end of the pain-stakingly drawn out Colossus arc, but this issue managed to go lower than even my own bottom-dwelling expectations. This felt like a "best" hits album of X-Force arcs of yore, with the team fighting the miniature virus which caused so many issues in what feels like a lifetime ago. None of it made real sense or added anything to the plot other than giving the team something to do while Colossus went through his feelings. I'd think there was nowhere else to go but up in the next arc, but I've been proven wrong before on this series.
