    Comicsverse - Eric Nierstedt

    Apr 19, 2017

VENOM #6 is a strangely heart tugging issue, as the symbiote struggles to escape an abusive host. Writer Mike Costa manages to make Venom a sympathetic monster, while Gerardo Sandoval keeps everything gritty. All of it then builds to an ending promising more trouble on the way. Read Full Review

We Got This Covered - Tom Bacon

Restoring the old status quo, Venom #6 reunites Eddie Brock with his beloved symbiote! It's effectively a relaunch, and it's going to be interesting to see where we go from here. Read Full Review

If you're a fanof the classic Venom stories of the 90's which consistently featured Spider-Manthis is a callback of sorts to those times establishing the connection thosetwo used to share.  The cover delivers onthe promise it sets up in an interesting way. Read Full Review

    Superior Spider-Talk - Eric Wilson

A really well-written issue that brings the Lee Price arc to a head is completely undercut by the decision to spoil the last page on the issue's cover. Over-the-top action and excellent artwork can only take you so far when the suspense is completely drained from the issue. Read Full Review

This issue just isn't as enjoyable as it could have been, but the renewal of Brock and Venom's bond could be a fun story to follow. Read Full Review

What looks like it could be the start of a great story next month is proceeded by a decidedly mediocre set up. Read Full Review

    CourtOfNerds - Grant Stoye

This was a pretty mediocre issue despite its touting in the press releases: the story is stale and the art is inane. However, it does possess the seeds of better things in the future, like how Brock will deal with a symbiote that now thinks for itself, that has been broken like a wild horse. What will their driving mission be? Will Brocks development be truly lost? Will they start this we bullshit again? Read Full Review

Pretty average set up. I'm interested in a return to status quo with Brock so that added points. Spider-man was drawn awfully but the rest was okay. And the tease for next month anniversary looks awesome.

Sometimes I do not know why I still am getting this series. It has a lot of potential, but it just needs something. I am not the biggest fan of the art and we will see where this goes with Eddie back.

How to throw a good series to trash for cheap nostalgia. Eddie Brock's return makes no sense like this.

Spidey tricks the Venom symbiote off of Lee Price and right into Eddie Brock's hands. Mike Costa delivers a workable script, but there's nothing in the writing to attract positive notice. Functionally it's a medium-hard reset and it moves me to make unkind assumptions about Mr. Costa's writing style: Start with promise, trail off into mediocrity. When combined with more of Gerardo Sandoval's overblown "I'd rather be cool than clear" art, the full package is distinctly unappealing.
