Uncanny X-Men #8 takes all the promise of the last issue and runs with it, giving readers a satisfying and intriguing chapter in this story. The last two issues have improved things immensely, making this story relevant again. The twist ending here is great, giving the heroes a seemingly insurmountable obstacle to overcome. Theres only two more parts left to this story, but if they can match whats been in this and the last issue, this story will have redeemed itself nicely. Read Full Review

The issue is an improvement over last issue's side quest and it gets the event back on track. Again, this is a prime example of having to judge the individual issue as well as the arc it's a part of of. It lifts the previous issue and itself stands out as an action focused chapter of the event. Uncanny X-Men #8 feels like old-school X-Men and ups the excitement for what comes next. Read Full Review

Overall, while I'm not the biggest X-Men (or X-Man) fan out there, I cant imagine this is what true X-Men fans wanted when they heard Uncanny X-Men was coming back.  While R.B. Silva and crew do a great job at keeping up their end of the bargain on art duties, I think the combination of three writers on one story has led to a bland generic connect the dots X-Men story that I didn't anticipate this early in the titles reemergence, and frankly just continues to be not that exciting. At this point now unless you are a hardcore X-Men fan and were going to read the series no matter what, there really isn't any reason to invest in this unfortunate lackluster series. This story is failing and it really breaks this x-geeks heart. Read Full Review

This issue was much better than last week's. It kind of made up for last week's disconnect from the rest of the arc, and the twist at the end is really fun. There's not much to say about this issue, since not a ton happens, but I had a good time.

While the writing was alright, the artwork was off the walls with some panels great and others awful. The Uncanny return has been lackluster, X-men fans deserve better.
