Overall this issue has its flaws but that should not dissuade any longtime reader from picking up this issue. It is a building block in a much larger story, one that promises to pay off in a big. The art by Ken Lashley is bold and brings the action of the issue alive and helps guide the reader through some of the slower moments. How he draws movement is something to truly be admired. Cullen Bunn’s writing is engaging and once the story gets to its meatier bits, it will really shine and be something to relish. Although this issue is slow in parts it moves the story along to where it needs to be. Also, any issue that ends with “THOOM!” definitely deserves your consideration. Read Full Review

Overall, the story kind of dragged however shined when it came to dialogue and character beats.  This issue could have certainly been told in far fewer pages, which is not an indictment on the creative team... more of an observation on the prevailing comics storytelling structure.  I feel torn in my score.  I am completely confident that this is all leading to something great... however, this issue was ultimately a bit of a slog. "Uncanny X-Men" #8 is the sort of comic that sounds better in concept. There's something at the heart of this book which holds a lot of promise, but we're just not quite getting it yet. Maybe Bunn and Lashley will pick up the pace in future chapters, but -- right now -- it's a little too sluggish for its own good. Read Full Review

Lashley's art can be a bit chaotic but that chaos pays off in this huge fight scene. And I love the relationship between Psylocke and her opponent. It's actually getting good and sometimes the critics just are off their rockers.

This book is excellent, thanks in part the Lashleys amazing pencils! A little too much time was spent on the Psylocke/Fantomex relationship, but the rest of the story is so good it didnt slow it down to bad. Really enjoying this book!
